I’ve read the couple of problems they had was not due to ammo. I’ve heard good things when shoot the cheapo stuff and the good stuff. What have you heard?

There were 2 failures, both shared by Military Arms Channel and both involved the extractor

1 was a video that everyone is saying was an out of battery detonation and 1 pic of a cracked slide

I don't trust the internet so the cracked slide is just that...could be poor manufacturing, ammo, shooter, or intentional

The video could be an out of battery detonation but it could also be any number of other issues including ammo

I know theres thousands of them out there already with only 2 actual documented issues

Some anecdotal reports of lower grain ammo not being as reliable

We are planning on getting one of these as well.

Yesterday, I watched a video by 22 Plinkster, where he seemed to be honest about the pros and cons of the gun. Most of what he talked about didn't bother me, but he mentioned a couple of minor issues that got me thinking.

I am very curious to hear your opinion.

I really want of these, primarily to use as a trainer for a G19.

Mine ran fine on cheap ammo and premium ammo. Hope you have the same experience.

What grain bullets were you shooting?

According to 22 Plinkster, 36 grain bullets were a problem (from multiple manufacturers) but other weights were fine.

Glock 44/ 19 parts interchange: The sights, factory extended mag release and Pearce grip plug from the 19 will all work on the 44. I was hoping the extended slide lock and slide release would work but they are different. My 44 continues to run on a variety of ammo with no malfunctions.

Good to hear. I've heard so much bad about the release that I was starting to fear Glock had pulled a Sig and started releasing junk.

Glad to hear this. I just talked to a guy this morning who shot over the weekend. He ran 200 rounds through it and had a 15% failure. He was shooting CCI, Hornady, and Buck-o-bullets(Remington?). The jams were intermittent and it happened with all 3 brands of ammo.

Maybe my break in had something to do my 44’s success. I cleaned and lubed it before firing. The first 50 rounds were CCI Velociraptor, then 100 CCI mini mags, then the 36 grain cheap stuff.

    The G44 is fantastic

Ran about 200 rounds each thru my girlfriend's and my buddy's suppressed one

Both functioned flawlessly with cheapo 40 grain bulk stuff and subsonic stuff

    Accurate and initially reliable

Having some withdrawals from my 10mm , itching to play with more hunting loads and shoot some longer range steel ... so I took it out to fully polish the guts .

Been shooting matches for 6 weeks with a g22 I slicked up (sidelined my usual match gun g41 because this tournament has been very capacity driven so I’m using factory 22rd mags )

reporting back on my G44 i purchased and was finally able to shoot. happy to report i shot 500+ rounds of bulk federal the 325 pack 40gr and winchester 525 36gr or whatever and it was absolutely FLAWLESS. every shot fed and ejected as it should. the only weird thing was out of the 50+ mags i shot through in 2.5 hours was about 4-5 times when i would put a mag in and either hit the slide release or rack it back to release the first round wouldn't slide up the ramp and get caught. i'd simply eject the mag and rack the slide and since the round was now bent or dented i wouldn't use it. my guess is that i didn't have the top round fully pushed back. either way, i'm extremely happy with mine, as it's going to be a great trainer! the trigger is a typical glock trigger and the feel is that of my other Glocks. i was happy with my groupings as well.

for what it's worth, when i did purchase the gun, before i ever shot it, i took it home and cleaned off all that red copper infused grease that glock puts in the slide rails. once i removed all that, i simply put some lube back on the rails and called it good.

I’m thinking I may research reviews a bit more and possibly give one a try. Wouldn’t be running it hard with tons of rounds, just need a threaded barrel for a special project I’m working on
