    the drive in Colorado was sorta therapeutic until I took a wrong turn somewhere near Nederland and ended up in Boulder by error in the rush hour, trying to recall from memory which turn to take from looking at a paper map the day before :crapstorm:

    Of ALL the things that I could have envy of my fellow man, the TRD supercharger is the only one.

    Oh sweet man, so this is the last piece of the suspension update/refresh???
    What are your thoughts? What are the changes you notice most? Any changes that you don't like with the new suspension? Sorry the hundred questions, we seem to have kinda similar opinions on drive and comfort and that crap

    I'll look more into it, but any complaints with your seats? I know they're great just trying to get the whole picture on em. Plus they would slide forward for rear access huh? I forgot about that with my access cab

    Well my truck will NEVER be a comfortable Cadillac riding truck.

    It’s a regular cab, shorter springs than xtra cab, I have helper springs that make it rough.

    If I put 200 pounds in the back of the bed then it glides nicely tho.

    The other Bilstiens did not have the length that these have because the helper springs raising the back 1.5” or so. So these will actually work better.

    Not a huge difference but will be much better for my setup.

    Not so much the overall ride on good roads, I guess I'm talking mostly for those jarring vibes when you go over a railroad track, stuff like that. I almost cringe when I do and I'm a lil bit of a grampa driver. I'm trying to decide if new front billies coil overs will address that or if I'll need a performance setup, or if it's just inherent and part of the way a truck drives. I've been in coil spring rear land Cruisers the last 15 years. So the taco is a bit of a learning curve for me.
    It's those jarring vibes that carries on to every freaking thing it seems like. I'd want a suspension that can eat that up.....
    In reality it'd prolly be wise to start with the suspension and steering bushings and all that little stuff that has 220k miles on it
    Thanks for letting me think this through out loud lol, actually did help. I don't want to put a grand into suspension and be disappointed because my expectations were out of line with what I was getting. Know what I mean? So thanks man for taking all these questions and stuff

    The jarring issue was the same for me, the front kings setup reduced it by probably 75 percent on my truck. Now I’m not afraid of hitting the potholes anymore. The front end is where you feel it the most.
    Front kings will probably make you the biggest difference to be honest, not Bushings so much but would help.

    Thank you for being clear about this. I understand exactly what you're saying.
    So even with the newish Monroes, you'd still say that it improved that much? I knew I should've jumped on JKO1998 thrashed Kings and rebuilt them. Time to keep eyes peeled. Seriously, thanks man. :cool:

    OK, I know it's not for everyone, but I'm going to give the FUMOTO a try. People say it drains slowly, so I'll see if that's something that bothers me next oil change. Not pictured - I installed a rubber vacuum cap to protect the outlet from grime.

    The Monroe are ok but they don’t pot holes well and fail after 30-40k and you need a complete new set.

    Kings are definitely the way to go but I don’t like the added 1.5” lift, but that’s my voice, I’m not a fan of a lifted truck

    I wanted to keep stock height on my truck, too, but all of the quality aftermarket kits add some lift. Any CV boot problems after the lift?

    No, but mine are old with cracks so that next on my list, they definitely have a larger stress angle so with cracks its time to do these sooner than later

    The Kings come with 0" lift out of the box, at least mine did. I had to adjust them for lift.

    Yup but its the springs that are taller i think.
    They are set at zero now and still got a 1.5 lift

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
    To be clear. Your leafs are not shorter than an extra cab.

    All 95-97 rear leafs are shorter than 98-04 by 3".

    That said, you can still get a nice ride out of the rear. The trick is managing weight capacity with ride comfort and ride height. You can get a very smooth ride if you wanted.

    Helper springs are not helping your ride though for instance.
