    Hello everyone,

New member here. It was always a dream of mine to own a Tacoma one day. This weekend my dream came true. I purchased a new 2019 Tacoma PRO. I know it’s 2020 but the dealer had a left over new 2019 that we worked out for us both. My first big decision is if I replace the very dull looking stick tires, 265/70R16 Goodyear wranglers. I want to keep my TRD wheels R16 but want more aggressive looking tires. I am also wanting to do a 3 inch leveling kit. My question is what tires do you guys recommend if I do a 3 inch leveling kit while keeping my stock R16 Pro wheels. The truck will drive in the city 90% of the time. On weekends I will take it to the mountains but nothing crazy. An all terrain tire. Thank you for your help

A 90% city truck will be thrilled with Michelin Defenders and the stock suspension.

    And so will your budget.

There are several ways of achieving a 3” lift. Spacers, bilsteins, coil swaps and fully adjustable coilovers. I feel You would be taking a step backwards with your pro suspension if you go with a spacer, bilsteins, or coil swap, being that the pro suspension is already tuned for the tacoma. But if I were to change it up, I would go for a fully adjustable coilover, e.g. fox, icon or king.

There are people who have added a small spacer to a pro to get a little bigger.

and if you are set on changing out the suspension. Let me know how much you want for the fr and rr shocks.

Hmm... the more I think about it the more I think I should just keep my suspension and maybe just get some bigger tires. Then spend the money saved on trips with the taco. Plus keep the wife happy. The stock tires look so dull tho lol doesn’t match the rest of the truck.

Honestly just going up a size with a more aggressive tire will make a huge difference in the look, and it will ride much better.

265/75R16 with a Nitto Terragrappler, Duratrac, etc.

Spend some time reading the Pro sections of the board.

Agree with that. The current Goodyear’s are 31” tall. 265-75-16 are 32” tall. No lift needed, no rubbing and 65 on the speedo is 67 actual.

I never had much luck with wranglers for wear on a couple of trucks I've had. I did buy some of these Falken's for my 2015 TRD Sport. They are a size bigger, no modification needed to truck and they looked and acted well, not loud either. I will buy them again and will once my stock tires wear out. I can't afford to just switch when I have perfectly good tires now or I would. They are actually on sale right now on Amazon $117 ea.

Welcome to the forum Jimmy32. There are many solid all-terrain tires that have been mentioned here. Which is right for you depends on your terrain, climate and driving style.

If we can help you narrow down which is best for your needs please let us know.

if you are gonna be on street and highway 99% the time, michelins. period.
they are fricking good offroad too. pushed my 4runner through a shitton of crap on good old LTX M/S
but I was just in the woods on standard logging roads, meeting things you find on old woods roads...
and not going out specifically to 'wheel in mud bogs' or 'hells revenge' those type adventures need the big lug type tires

    Welcome to TW.
Since you’ve got a pro I wouldn’t put a big spacer it already sits higher than any other trim level in the front.
I’d rock a small 1/4 or maybe 1/2 in spacer up front and a aal keeping that good suspension.
Tires so many choices I’m a huge fan of 255/85/16 you get the height but not the width and rubbing of a 285.

Like the others have said, you've spent so much on getting the factory fox suspension so I wouldn't be in a rush to toss that stuff. The pro suspension is very capable, just add in a small front spacer. A spacer won't yield you 3 inches, but you don't need that for what you're doing. FYI a 265/75 C load wildpeak would look great, and you won't need any invasive cutting/trimming.

Welcome! I got my Pro back during the holidays and I have done so much research on wheels and tires that i'm blue in the face. First off, I don't know of a kit that's going to yield you 3 inches and not compromise the Fox Suspension. If you are wanting to do a small lift, I recommend the Revtek 427ap kit which will give you a 1.5" lift all around and it's specifically designed for the Pro. There's also another recent thread out there of Eibach working on a lift specifically for the Pro (I forget the title of the thread but it's pretty recent.)

I'm also about to purchase some tires since the stock ones are so bland. Falken Wildpeaks seem to be a great alternative for daily driving and still getting you out on the trails. But plenty of others to choose from too especially if aesthetics are what you are wanting. You can easily fit 267/75 on the stock Pro wheels and there are many threads of others going up to 285/75 with little to no rub as well. Good luck with the decisions.
