Wheelbase is one of those things that can help or hurt. It affects break over angle big time. My wheeling rigs a 97 4runner. I wheel a lot with guys that have 2nd gen Taco's. There's things I climb right up and over that they can't. There's also things that they climb right up and over that I can't. On tight trails like Dusy though I have a much easier time getting through. lol

I think I’m doing the Dusy this August/September. Should be a “Dusy”. Lol.

No not yet. Just YouTube porn.

want to include swamp, coyote, and Bald while I’m down there, if the rig is able to survive all those trails. Lol. That’s what AAA premium service tow is for.

Swamps no big deal. Coyote is the real deal. It's probably the second hardest trail I've run. With Fordyce being the hardest. Depending on who you talk to Dusy is either easier or harder then the Rubi. I think Dusy is harder personally as it's longer and requires a lot more attention while driving.

Dusy is fun. I haven’t been in a few years and I’ve heard it’s change since then. My brothers and my dad did it last year.

I’m hoping to get to it soon. Rubicon through trip definitely this summer on the list if I ever get my rig finished...

Totally. 30 some odd miles of trail on the Dusy definitely lends itself to losing focus. Watched my dad almost roll his cruiser due to inattention.

Yeah I’ve done Fordyce last year and didn’t have to winch but Daymn some of those boulders were bigger than my rig. Definitely the Hardest Trail in the sierras.
Rubicon is a trail I try to run at least 1 time a year. Love it Spring when all Little Rock’s making it a freeway are all kicked out before any of the Jamborees.

I’m going full width on a shorter wheel base than my ‘85 pickup... 110->90ish.

I think the low 100s is perfect. We’ll see how it goes.

My buddy is in a TJ, 90’s inch wheelbase, and if can handle all those really tippy moments, it scares the SH!t out of me. I always think he’s gonna roll.

Most of the trail stays the same. It's Thompson Hill that changes. It's either bad, really bad or, and I'll quote, "The worse I've ever seen it in 20 years" lol

Fordyce is the only trail I've ever completed where I truly felt like I didn't want to run it again. Of course that changes as you forget about how brutal it is. I've since forgotten and plan on running it again this year. lol

Cool. Next time I plan something out Shaver Lake way I'll shoot you a PM. If you ever get over to the east side of the Sierra get a hold of me.

My older brother and I would probably be up for Fordyce. We’ve never done it. My younger brother did it awhile ago and had a good time.

I’ll have to get a few trips in first to figure out my new rig but I’m sure it’ll be ok.
