You guys have fun with your turbo. Those are a solid pass for me.

Try replacing your radiator cap, it sounds like it could be defective. If it continues you may want to investigate getting a cylinder leakage test done.

I've never seen a cooling system needing burping cause this. Overheating, due to trapped air bubbles, hell yeah, but we are talking about Toyota here so anything is possible I guess. Lol.

How’s your water pump looking? Is the weep hole clogged? Not sure that it would cause a huge back log but wondering.

No. The roads have been so terrible that I haven’t bothered. And I’m waiting for my new alternator so I can do that and replace the accessory belt prior to putting a new supercharger belt on. That’s my story anyways.

Good call. I have pulled off my accessory belt more times this last month than I have in the life of the truck, and I have to do it at least two more times in the next month or two. :p

just swapped on a TRD rad cap off my v6 that i know is good. I installed a new water pump about 9k miles ago and a new 170* tstat 2k miles ago. Checked the coolant before i left to go out of town on a 3 hr drive and it was good. Checked it again this morning after driving 6hrs total and the res was overfilled. I will report back on if the rad cap makes a difference. Thanks for the help gents!

Well just drove an hr and a half with the new rad cap and the same thing is still happening. I guess its time for a compression test

Cylinder leakage test. Compression would net you passing results, but a cylinder leakage will test the head gasket. Let us know brother!

25,000 miles oil. Jesus. Lol. I don't think the manufacturers even care what happens to your engines anymore.

It’s good oil. I dunno if I’d trust it for that long. I plan on doing my normal blackstone oil test to see how it had held up when I change it.

@Murphinator Unfortunately, gotta pop the whole panel down to get to the buttons.

I'll post a photo of my old setup which sacrificed a small portion of an a/c vent.

Damn that sucks. It would be cool to make like a cantilever style button to work with that mount but might be too much $$ to invest in R&D.

Call me old school but I am against doing anything longer than 5000 miles and even then that is a bit over.

Every time I change my oil at 5k it comes out BLACK. I have been doing services at that interval since brand new. When removing my valve covers and observing the internals and their general condition, I didn't like how the valve covers and the rocker arms were stained with mild carbon deposits. Anyone doing their oil changes later than 5k synthetic or not, I wish their internals well. Blackstone test or not, I go more off of visual wear.

That's just my take on it, not saying you are wrong in your methodology brother, I just personally have a different methodology on it is all. :)

Trust me I agree with you. But I am trying it out since I probably will put less than 5k on the truck a year now that I won’t be daily driving it again.

Never thought I'd see the day this thread devolved into an oil debate.
