You didn't state anything remotely offensive. This OP is offensive by replying like that after only 1 response. @PilotMM take it easy, the guy was just trying to help you.

Who makes a thread over a snapped bolt anyways??? Take a good bolt, go to the dealer or hardware store, figure it out. Google search would have also solved your issue. And no, not welcome to TW with that attitude.

I was wondering that too! I would expect the taillight (plastic) to crack/break before the bolt would.

I would just like to say, last night someone stole both my Taillights, including hardware. So for those of you that helped this gentleman, thank you.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
How'd this turn out? I had a similar problem, except it wasn't a broken bolt - I just needed one 1/4" longer. Three calls to the dealer, two posts on Tacoma forums, and a trip to a local "off-road shop" and nobody could find the answer anywhere. I finally just cut the head off with an angle grinder and welded in a bit of bugger weld to make it longer.

It isn't a bolt, it's a hex head cap screw.
