anyone running 265/75/16s with a lift?

30" E range tires, lifted 1.5" or so. haven't actually measured since changing suspension. these are 265/65-17 AT3 LT's.

That lift, (whatever it is) looks just right for that size tire imo.

Do you notice a performance difference in the 17s vs the 16 on those sizes?

I mounted winter tires on my stockers and am trying to decide what size to go with for summer wheels. I’m also trying to convince myself to quit looking at pictures of 285s because it’s making buying another set of 265s really difficult.

 

The 17” and 16” setups are the same outer diameter, so loss of torque due to the larger outer diameter is theoretically equal. The big difference is my 17” setup is much lighter. The 16” winters are E-rated, and my BFG ko2 summers are C-rated. In general the more wheel and the less tire, the lighter the overall package.

I don’t dislike the way the truck drives on the E-rated 16” snows, however it is noticeable that the tires are heavier. The truck does not accelerate as quickly, and the ride is rougher. It takes more to get the truck up to speed if that makes sense. However, not so much I am bothered by it.

 

Are you saying a 265/75/16 tire is the same size as a 265/75/17??

 

No. My tire sets are 265/75/16 and 265/70/17. Same outside diameter.

I don’t think 275/75/17 is a size that is made by anyone.

Oh ok. I’ve actually been looking for a 275/75/16. Very limited in tread pattern choices. Some people get confused when getting tire measurements. Some actually think a 285/75/16 is the same size as a 285/75/17.

I am running 265/75/16 KO2’s. This pic is when I put OME 885’s on 5100’s on the bottom perch. Rear is OME Dakar med duty leaf springs. Rides pretty well in my opinion. I added 5/8” spacers and camburg UCA’s in late fall but don’t have pics off it yet. It’s at 2.5 inches up front.

In my dream world these tires would be slightly larger as due to the height of the lift and the increase in tire size everything looks more or less proportional and the truck doesn't look overly "big". That being said, I think it's a nice compormise between having everything work and fit without worry about mudflaps, UCAs, cab mounts, etc.

 

Who’s running an eibach lift? If so what clip and what done in the rear?
