Patience grasshopper, patience. When the new car/truck bug bites it bites hard and it’s always on your mind with endless online vehicle shopping, sending e-mails for quotes, etc.

In Oklahoma the TTL doesn’t involve the dealer, have to go to tag office within 30 days. It’s 3.25% excise tax, 1.25% sales tax, $91 for tag.

base on tax and fee, dealer can give different discounts. One states discounts can be more because the taxes and fees. So OP should ask how much you pay in individual states rather than how much you as whole country.

Bed Mat and Go Pro. Toyota made it so good, doesn't need much mods. Don't like getting her dirty!!
If the Toyota loan doesn’t have a pre-payment penalty, you could refinance with the second loan.

Dealers get a lot of kickbacks from banks for financing. It's a major source of revenue for them. If you're getting a good deal on a vehicle, it's likely because they're making it up on the back end from the bank. This is also why dealers don't particularly care for cash buyers. It's also why more and more buyers are financing vehicles for longer terms and with smaller down payments... The bank and the dealer make more money.

Just picked up a 2020 Tacoma SX AC/OR in AZ, MSRP(Base Price on paperwork) - $35,783, I paid $33,058 plus a regional $1250 Toyota rebate, so $31,808 before tax/title and fees. 8.9% below MSRP. I went in a half hour before closing on Superbowl Sunday so that sped things up a bit I think, in and out in 4 hours. 20200202_162746.jpg

I just picked up my 2020 TRD Offroad 4x4 Double Cab with Trd Premium off road Package.

    Also include:
    Advance Technology Package
LED Headlights with LED DRL + Black Bezel LED foglights
    D-rings
    Door Edge guard
    Exhaust Tip
    Mini Tie down loop
    Mudguards
    TRD air Filter
All weather floor liner and Door Sill Protector

    Initial offer is below:
    MSRP=$45462
    OTD= $49534

I came in after doing extensive research and getting quotes from multiple dealerships of what I was only going to pay. I told them 44k even and I was informed that price is very low for the car and what it included. They eventually countered my offer to just pay MSRP price OTD. I countered with $44500 and got that price.

Let me know what you all think. Location is Orange County

Seems like a pretty good deal. What was the price after dealer discount and rebate + any non-government dealer fees? Did you trade?

After the other dealer backed out of the initial offer at $34500 with all the tax and fees was $38200 out the door msrp was $39103

I emailed a couple other dealers
By mistake I emailed one with a long bed but they called and said they are getting gnome built on 2/12 and should get it before the end of the month
Off road DCSB 4x4 cement msrp $39240
Offered for $34830 but their fees must be lower as out the door they told me I’m at $38332

    Tax 2783.41
    license and reg 633.75
    Doc fee 85.00
    total 38,332.16

I know you didn’t ask me specifically but I think having Apple CarPlay /Android Auto, power drivers seat with height adjustment, and option for LED headlights are worth it to go 2020 unless you're talking a significant discount. Think about in the future when you go to sell it and a buyer is scanning through Craigslist comparing trucks. What will make your truck stand out against the other 3rd Gens and command the most resale value?

New here as I just picked up a 2020 TRD Pro a couple of weeks ago. I was lurking on this thread prior to purchasing- plenty of good info in here. Thank you.

Anyways- here is the deal I ended up with that worked for me. Truly was in no hurry to purchase, they just so happened to have what I was looking for. Just about begged me to make an offer.

    2020 TRD Pro- Super White
    Bed Lights
    Door Sill Protectors
First Aid Kit- forgot to tell them to keep it.
    Mudguards

    MSRP- $48,172.00
    Agreed upon price- $45,721.00
    Tax/Title/Reg- $828.87
    Doc Fee- $115.00
    OTD- $46,664.87

Of course they tried to sell me all of the paint protection, gap insurance etc., even attempted to force some sort of anti theft stickers for $500, told them i'd walk if they included those.

There is no way in hell you only paid $828.87 in TTL on a nearly $46k truck. The taxes alone would have to be at least $2500, probably a lot more.

For the 1000th time, people here want to see 2 numbers...
    1. MSRP
    2. the price you paid BEFORE fees (tax/title/reg/etc).

If you want to provide the OTD price, that's fine, but it's not really useful for shoppers.

Only way I can see that low of tax/tag/title is if he had a trade in that provided a tax credit. If a trade occurred that is a big influence on whether the deal was good or not and should be noted in these posts..

Some states have very low sales/use tax on vehicles. Oregon charges 0.5% because they have a high income tax. South Carolina used to 5% with a $300 maximum (this increased in 2017). Washington State has high car tab fees that fund public transit on top of 10%+ use tax (with no income taxes). North Carolina charges property taxes (same rate as a home) on all vehicles. Some states give you a credit for a vehicle traded in. Every state has different taxation scheme.
