For me, Shanahan blew it by trying to have Jimmy throw it. If it came down to QBs, Mahomes gonna win every time. Niners couldn't convert on crucial 3rd downs at the end. Great win by Chiefs, but Mahomes didn't have his best day either.

What BS pass interference call? Do you mean the one where the SF defender jumped in the air and was wrapped up in the KC receiver so he couldn’t make any attempt at the ball? Or do you mean the one where Kittle pushed off the defender to have a non contested catch? You get no sympathy for trynna blame the refs for the outcome of this game. It was very well officiated. I dislike both teams equally so I have no bias towards either side. SF didn’t score a single point in the 4th quarter. That’s why they lost.

Yep, SF blew a lead that they should've won with in 4th qtr with only 8 mins left. I was going for the Niners but they couldn't hold back Chiefs and convert when needed to kill clock.

    Great game Chiefs.

Over his final three drives before his Chiefs were able to kneel out the clock with an 11-point lead, Mahomes’ numbers flipped to this:

    • 8-of-12 passing
    • 114 yards
    • 9.5 yards per attempt
    • 2 touchdowns
    • 0 interceptions
    • 130.2 passer rating

I thought it should’ve been Kyle Shanahan, esp w how he bailed on the running game in the second half :D

Yeah, maybe his mvp was for entire playoffs not just SB?

Shanahan should've not bailed from run.

Blowing a 10-point lead by giving up 21 unanswered after being firmly in control constitutes “blowing it.”

he has a tendency to get a little careless with his throwing when they're behind late in a game. Lots of slapped down balls and picks or almost picks

I love the Chiefs as much as anybody but you sound like a cocky Patriot fan.

If not him, who else? He did not have a great statistical game but KC scored 21 points in the last 7 minutes of the game. I can’t think of another player deserving other than Mahomes. I’m willing to change my mind if you have a solid arguement for another player...

I have a confession to make... when the 4th quarter started I did think SF had this game in the books... KC wasnt doing anything but giving the ball to the 49ers.

I learned a valuable lesson... never and I mean never count out Mahomes.

I'm happy AR got his much deserved ring.

I agree. I had actually just said something to my wife about Mahomes being overwhelmed by the game (seeing as interceptions are rare for him and he had just thrown 2). I went to give my son a bath and came back to them being right back in the game.

I too am happy that Reid got the ring. I was cheering for the Chiefs because I wanted to see that happen.
