Hey guys, new member here. Been lurking for a few months but finally made an account today to ask y’all about this.
I have a 2019 TRD OR DCSB with the v6, just under 2500 miles on it. Was under today doing the ac drain mod and noticed my rear main is seeping. No drips or anything but still felt problematic given the mileage.
Any recommendations/opinions on whether or not this is worth messing with? Would hate to have the tranny out so soon into ownership.

UPDATE: adding final results so y’all don’t have to scroll through all of it, corporate refused to fix leak citing TSB-0008-20, which states that until a leak drips, it’s considered a normal element of any Toyota engine and as such a dealer is not authorized to repair.

Bringing it to the dealership is the best thing to do since it’s still under warranty.

Everything will be fine they will fix the issue. Not the worst thing that could happen . Any motor can have an issue like that.

I bet 1 peso that they wash it down with brake clean and say it's seepage and to monitor.

So pig out on the coffee, bagels and load up on bottled water.

Welcome to the forum, tell them you want an extended warranty. Probably won’t work but worth a try.

Took it in this morning, have a great guy here that is putting it at the front of the list for the day. He told me they'll separate trans from engine and check the seals, and I'll get a call later today. He also said its happened on a few others, so we will see what they come back with. I'll update when I hear.

Update for y'all, dealer called me back and said they agree that is seeping/leaking and that they've contacted Toyota Of North America regarding my "seepage". Toyota told them that anything on or around any existing mechanical seal in the car is considered normal seepage and is not something that will be fixed until it worsens. Dealer says their hands are tied and I agree on that front, if corporate says no then its a no. I will continue the good fight over the coming weeks as I feel that any leak, however minor, is unacceptable on a brand new truck with 2400 miles on it. Dealer says they will be documenting and are going to give me a document from corporate with pictures and info depicting "much worse seepage" that was still considered normal. Can't make this stuff up folks, I'll upload that once I pick up the truck in a couple hours.

Unfortunately Toyota corporate does this a lot. They won't touch my rear diff until it drips on the ground, not matter how much seepage there is. It has to drip on the ground, amazing.

Weepage,? seepage,?? leaking ??? Semantics. If it's leaking enough that's dripping down to the bottom of the bellhousing then it's should be bad enough to be fixed.

I was a tech for Mercedes Benz for 20 years. Same thing, that’s considered seepage and not a defect according to MBZ. It has to be a “drip” for it to be considered a leak....sucks

I was under the impression it was a drip. For it to be seen at the bottom of the bellhousing it has to "drip" down the back of the motor.
