Got a turkey baster? Just saying. You can make something look worse than normal to get their attention.

i had a subaru that would eat a quart every 3k since new. At 70k miles i get a letter about the result of a class action... Take it in for a consumption test. drive around for 3k and then they measure the oil that came out...... I got a new short block a rental for a month and in the 10k i had it didnt burn a drop

should i mention i had a fumoto valve installed.

A coworker had a new 93 Chevy pickup that burned a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so, Chevy claimed it was normal

I think it was a Chevy I read about . We used to have a thing in the paper where you could ask this auto guy questions , it was pretty interesting .

So, I'd have to ask them "what is the purpose of the seal then?" If it is not sealing, then, at what point do you call it failure? Short of a bad PCV valve (which they should absolutely check), you will need another seal. They don't 'self heal'.

Back from the dealer, they gave me a TSB (T-SB-0008-20) that outlines seepage vs leaks for the last 20 years. Dealer told me to bring it back when it starts dripping and he’ll be able to force their hand then. He left my documentation statement open enough (states monitoring would be continued) so that when I come back it won’t be a new case item that we’ll have to run by Toyota again.

My dream was always to own a TACO since I was a kid.... but seems like the good ole days just dealing with rust but engine would run until the frame turned to dust are over... and the corporate mothership almost always seems to try and get out of standing behind their product. Sad.

2019 truck , 2500 miles there should be no leak or seepage from the rear engine seal .

that's horseshit, a seep is a leak. the seal is compromised and it will just get worse.

many went through this same BS with the rear diff leak/seep myself included.

it’s possible, but the problem I have here is that when they send in a rep or even just in their documentation phase they’ll have the truck sit, and when it doesn’t continue to leak at that same rate I’m SOL. my plan is to keep some cardboard under my brand new truck and wait for it to wet the bed. it’s coming, just don’t know when

It would be a shame if somehow someone squirted a bunch more oil up there from below. Then it would really appear to be a full-fledged leak. ;)

Well then going by the bulletin above they would be wrong. That fluid IS pooling at the bottom of the bellhousing and DRIPPING out. Picture don't lie. I would be ok if they cleaned it up once but if it continued like that, something's going to be done about it.
