Hi, I have a 2011 toyota tacoma with an automatic transmission and I'm trying to install a remote start system in it. Since it is a new truck, NOBODY (including my local toyota dealership) has a wiring diagram that shows which wires are which, in the kick panel and the fuse box. I downloaded a diagram from a 2010 model but the stuff just doesn't seem to be matching up (Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places?? ). If someone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. I found all the wires that I need on the ignition harness such as 12v, accessory1&2, and the starter. But the wires that I need help finding are the factory alarm and disarm wires, brake, parking light flash, tach, and horn wires. If anyone knows where I could find these, it would help out a lot! thanks.

Ha, yes. Pardon my newness to the forum. I made an account just to ask this question. But anyways, if you go here: (http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp), you can select a diagram which tell you where all the wires are for a 2010 tacoma. Unfortunately, they don't have one for my truck.. :(

ya I was looking at the xk05 but I ended up ordering this bypass instead. http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/Prod...-module-for-remote-starter-installations.aspx
It seems to be a fairly simple installation. Just waiting for it to come in now!

I have a 2011 as well, and just had an Arctic Start put in. It does its job of starting the engine, and killing the engine, as well as unlock driver/unlock all, and of course lock.

What it doesn't do is activate the chirper when you lock or unlock, only the parking lights, and it also doesn't work as a panic/car finder in the sense that the horn/alarm doesn't fire. The parking lights will flash when you hit the panic button, and remain flashing, but that's it.

Tech that put it in says that 2011 is a completely different system (he mentioned 80 bit bus) than previous tacomas, so he couldn't make it work with every possible combination, but he got the basic functions working.

Good enough for me, and he had problems as well, spent about 4 hours when he was used to 45 minutes to do a tacoma.

    Hope that helps.

    Matt

Pretty sure someone has a thread on this. Just got my Viper 5901 installed at Best Buy, but did searching on here prior - that's why I think someone has it. Am on my phone and can't check for you right now...
