Love my 5100 OME-885 lift with 1.5 inch tapered rear blocks. I came in at about 2 inches front lift and a slight rake. No regrets, after I did the ECGS diff bushing to fix the vibes...

I have not read the replies so this may have been covered but why bother spending the money lifting it just for looks? You might as well save your money and leave it stock. These trucks ride nice stock and have great ground clearance stock. Just my own personal opinion.

You won't get it because you don't have the "modify" bug....there are some of us that just can't leave things alone. Just because things work stock doesn't mean it can't be better for someone else. That goes for looks, function for intended use, etc... I like to set my vehicle apart from the rest and make it my own!

Good for you bud! If you're not into looks you probably should have purchased the TRD Off Road model. It is a better bang for buck "money working for you" than the Sport...but you have a Sport, with a fake scoop.... Don't get me wrong I like the Sport and it's probably what I'm purchasing soon. Like I said you dont get it....Enjoy your stock truck...

You are reading too much into my original comment. Just pure opinion. I ended up buying a Sport because I could not find a reasonable OR or Pro with a manual transmission. Plus I figure that I can do better mods than OE for less money. Oh I do in fact "Get it"! I just have a different outlook than most. I kept my Subaru stock for reliability sake. Don't let my opinion ruin your day!

Thanks for telling it like it is, Gatordog! I drive a 4 Runner OR now but when I had my 2015 Taco, I lifted it 2”. No issues, and imho these trucks look great with a mild lift. They look great with a big lift too, but the compromises are too great unless you need it, just as you acknowledge. Besides driveability, unless you regear, your truck performs like a dead dog in terms of power and acceleration. If you don’t mind people giving you the finger in traffic for slowing down everyone when the light turns green, or don’t mind being passed by bicycles then you’re ready for life feeling like you’re dragging a 2000 lb anchor down the road.
Of course, if you keep stock wheel size, nothing changes, but usually a lift and bigger tires go hand in hand.

Hated my first two lifts. Cheap Bilstein 5100s/aal, then icons. Now have Kings all around and a whole new leaf pack and I should have done it first from the start.

technically, if he builds for ‘purpose’ like he mentioned. The TRD OR is a great stock platform, but if you ever plan to upgrade, it’s a wasted package. The sport is a better route for off road with modifications. The sports have a larger 8.4” rear gear set, opposed to the 8” e locker rear end. Also, no need to buy an OR for the ‘upgraded’ TRD shocks if you plan on replacing them with a coilover and new ext travel shocks anyways. A lot guys who want to beat on their truck will opt for a 8.4” sport rear end with an ARB locker in lieu of the smaller elocker axle.
