TW Family getting rid of my spacer lift in front!! LOL and going with some 5100’s with stock coil. If you have pics of 4 clip and a 1.5” rear block would be awesome to see. Thanks again. Install is next week

Going from one spacer to another? Get rid of the block in the rear otherwise you can come back in 6 months when you do and can say we were right.

Awesome brotha, I think you will see a difference in handling and overall ride improved. 5100s come with instructions. Those state how much lift each clip position provides.

Thank you home boy. You think I’ll be good on 4th clip with a 1.5” block for now. Aal later on for sure. I want 1” of rake.

I think you are on the right track. Every lift is different. 4x4 vs 4x2, LB vs SB. It all makes a difference on how much lift you end up with.

Actually I want to explore more light off-roading. I don’t want to take any chances bottoming our shock or other shit. Also always wanted Bilsteins been looking into for a while. Went spacer lift route to lift truck quickly. Figured this set up will do me good. Budget friendly also. Will be getting a aal eventually.

I had 5100s on my 2nd gen set to 1.5” lift and hated them. Preloading the spring to gain lift resulted in a harsh ride on small road trash. Rolling bumps on the highway that got into the stroke felt good. The small pot holes, cracks, and roots etc shook my dash. I finally took them off and replaced then with Fox 2.0 coil overs and it was so much better. A little more lift and amazing ride quality. Do it right this time and that’s not 5100s on the 4th clip. Spend a little extra up front but less on installation since the come set for 2” or lift. 5100s you have to have special tools to install the springs on them.

You really need to do more research. There is alot more to lifting these trucks than just installing some adjustable coilovers and a block or an add a leaf. Good luck with your truck.

Went from 5100s all around to 6112’s in the front and 5160’s for the rear shocks. Major upgrade in performance and cheaper than fox.

Putting it on 4th clip will certainly provide lift, but preloading the coil that much will certainly lead to a stiffer ride. Think about some coils so that you leave them on bottom clip

Interesting so many nay sayers here regarding 5100. This poll here says otherwise.

Well, for one that poll was 8 years ago. Second, I never said anything about the 5100 (I'd personally not waste my money on them, but they do a job), I was specifically talking about getting rid of his front spacer only to be putting a rear spacer (block) on. The block will destroy his leaf springs in short order if he's wheeling, not to mention the extra leverage it creates which leads to wheel hop and other bad characteristics.

I am 100% against rear blocks. I had them, they were terrible. Installed Dakar leaf springs immediately. Highly recommend OME dakar leafs. Also, are you sure he didn't already have the rear blocks b4 making this thread? He didn't specify.
