Ha! But yeah, we're often strong mentally when motivated... and motivated by what we see and feel.

Like... @Travish325 is tall and bigger = strongman, @Supra TT is thinner and got into BB/weights, @PackCon also thinner and got into running and weights somewhat. I'm thin af and got into weights too cuz I find it easier than running for an hour and I see good results.

    @tacopaulo, @ThunderCookies similarly, etc.

Something gives us results because of mindset or body type or w/e, so we run with it. As we get more results, whether visual or feel-good, we are reinforced and do it more, etc.

In the end, we're pretty simple creatures.
    (Imho and all that.)

If you’re making progress as is, why change anything? If you can’t break plateaus when you are natural it will be the same for the first plateau you hit when you are on. You only get to play that card once.
Regulate training, sleep well and eat foods that won’t cause inflammation.
A coach will solve the first issue, the other two are simple fixes.

I’m fully convinced sleep and nutrition are the most under-utilized pieces of the puzzle for most people. Most people like clanging the weights around, but few are willing to do the nutrition work and set aside the time to get their full sleep.

Sleep is the most important thing for me. I fall apart without it.

I agree with this so much. People will bitch they are tired and fatigued all the time, you ask them if they get 8-10 hours a sleep a night. 99% chance they say “No”.

Its like... well... lets start with the obvious.

Rest and recovery are as important if not more important than the effort you put forth in your actual workouts.

Look I don’t need to know what you do in the privacy of your own home.

My only complaint about mine, is that my most common area that knots up on me is in the rotator cuff, and I can’t contort my arms in a way to really dig in and hammer it out. I need some sort of wall mount so that I can just lean in to it

Trying to decide between a New Balance or Asics running shoes. Couldn't find many options locally.

Both are running shoes. Leaning toward the NB cuz it's wider. Otherwise either should work and seem to fit well. Thoughts?

I personally wear Brooks ghost series for workouts. I went to a running store and they filmed my feet as I ran (barefoot) and then made a recommendation for shoes, tried the shoes on and filmed my feet running in those shoes to see if they were a good match for my style, stride, and quirks.
If you have something similar available locally it’s worth it to do it, otherwise I’m pretty much brand agnostic.

She can, and does. But she’s not always around when I am in need of a good torture sesh.

they don’t compare at all. It certainly won’t replace a sports massage by any means, but they are nice to have if you want to get some extra blood flow to an area and try and loosen up a knot. Usually my girl gives a deep tissue massage, and then hits the surrounding area with the hypervolt to get some blood flowing to the muscles

I bitch about being tired and fatigued 100% of the time but I always get 8-10 hours of sleep. If not more.

Mine's thyroid related. Some doc tried to tell me I was hypoinsomniac based on 2 things... 1) I'm tired all of the time. and 2) She is hypoinsomniac. I said "Okay, but what about the abnormal thyroid levels and every single other symptom that points to hashimoto's disease?" "Nope, your thyroid is fine, it has to be insomnia" Bruh
