Had a great time! The first route didn't pan out due to snow and downed trees, but found our way around to some cool spots.

    Will do!

It was great meeting you and getting out to see some country.

I was impressed by your rig and how it soaked up the bumps out on the trail.

Thanks! It climbed the hills quite nicely though on the curves on the paved road i can tell the center of gravity is higher than what I’m used to. Hopefully today I can complete the installation of Hellwig front and rear anti-sway bars. Bet yah there’s a bunch of snow up there today

Probably is a bunch of snow up there today alright!

Hopefully we can set up another group ride pretty soon. It is fun to get out and see the beautiful country around us, even more enjoyable in a group.

    That would be excellent, Merlin88!

Maybe we could tap into your knowledge for where to head out on our next trip?

Sure, you bet! I like loop runs, enter the mountains from one way and exit from another. Soon as some of the higher elevation access open‘s up, one of my favorite runs on the east side (cascades) is from the green springs summit or hyatt lake over to hwy 140. Exit can be made at several points along hwy 140 from lake creek on up to fish lake and lake of the woods or flip it around and exit out on route 66 or Dead Indian Memorial Rd above Ashland

Of course the run through the Siskiyou’s from mt ashland over to applegate lake along the pacific crest trail is another great spring/summer run. Exit out through Wagner Gap, Dutchman Peak, or the Little Applegate at Ruch or near Provolt.

Any ideas on runs to do before the upper elevations open up?

Sure, on the south side of the valley Wagner Creek over to Anderson Butte out to the little applegate is lower, a little higher is shale city over and out to condi creek. On the north side, east out through the cow creek drainage, Glendale/Wolf Creek area back into Evans creek should be open. From Merlin out to the west of Hell’s Gate up Hog creek around and out graves creek or Onion mtn should also work.

Aha! You ARE a wealth of knowledge!
When do you have time (preferably on a weekend) to lead the charge on another outing?

yes, couple of ways out of there. One exits out down Bull Gap through the Ashland watershed and/or near Lithia Park, if memory serves. Another takes off lower on down the east side of the mountain and you drop out onto Toleman Creek.

LOL, yeah sure! I’d be happy to make a run sometime, haven’t been out in the woods since hunting season ended in November! Excited to join other TW members here in the Rogue Valley and explore some country.
