Mines a 89 sx 650. I was kinda scared to buy something so old incase it was going to be a problem sourcing parts but there seems to be a pretty big following for vintage ski’s.

Yeah when i was looking for mine everything in ontario seems to be 3k minimum.
and you’ll be looking at a minimum of $25k USD for anything that will do a backflip lol

    Story time!

After work I had to stop by the local Metro, as I'm leaving I notice a couple people walking away from the back of my truck. I figure its a busy parking lot they are probably walking past it. I toss my groceries on the back seats and while I'm digging around for my oh henry bar I notice a vile smell... Walking around the back of my truck to get to the driver side I see the tailgate isn't properly latched, which is odd, and then I see the source of the smell... Someone used my tailgate as a baby changing station and dumped the old diaper on the ground. Looks like the bed is getting power washed tomorrow.

Im super disgusted someone would do that, but also a very small part of me finds it funny that someone had the balls to do it.

Naturally the only solution is 33"s and a lift so the tail gate is too high for them next time

@Crayons that’s hilarious and disgusting, sorry for laughing so hard. Those classy folks must really not like their baby to use a Taco tailgate. Can’t think of anything colder or more uncomfortable, and that’s without having a bare ass in February! Pretty sure Metro has a public washroom, with a change table, and a sink to wash ones hands. (Got two young kids, I value a sink after diaper explosions)

I'd like to make to Smooth Rock Falls the first day. Then to Attawapiskat the second day. Then reverse on the way back. Good tip on reserving the rooms at the Moose Motel. Don't plan on camping but will be bringing emergency camping gear, food and water, etc.
How long did the drive from Smooth Rock Falls to Moosenee take you?

try and stand closer to the bow to get more weight off the stern when you get it up full throttle, it should keep it from wanting to hop. i have a 550sx and it wants to do the same thing

Ill try that next time, i didn't get too much time on it last year since i bought it right at the end of the season. Only long distance run was on a rough day too.
I got 4* bars for it and stance seems to be further forward in a better way now.

I’m down. Haven’t seen these cunts in a while.

maybe in Winston Churchill area or something? Could do wings, or even just a burger joint. Doesn’t have to be crazy formal.

So @Norilsk we should aim for this time.....don’t want any carnage to clean up in the parking lot....

I’m also out for Valentine’s Day weekend. Have a charity dance thing.

I have to say that I am deeply disappointed in the lack of pictures from the carnage.

The 1st thing that needs to happen in an event like this is you reach for you phone and start taking pictures. Then take care of the situation.

Have any of you manual trans. guys installed a short throw sifter? I hate how easy my trans. goes into reverse and I’ve read that the STS will help with that. Do any of you have any experience with that? Does it start out better and then goes back to being too easy after it breaks in?

Any other suggestions for how to make it more difficult, or noticeably different feeling, going into reverse?

I had a URD short throw kit on my 2nd gen, and loved it. The only reason I uninstalled was for a warranty claim I was making. The URD kit is a spacer plate, and shifter extension, not unlike the TRD or Hurst kit which replaces everything.

YES. It made getting into reverse more difficult. My wife had trouble hitting reverse after, but I just took more of a “running start” from Neutral to Reverse.

When I’m due for my next fluid change interval, I will put the short throw back in. I liked the feel, the reduced leverage made it more “mechanical” feeling.

In my 87,000 kilometres with this truck I never put it in reverse by accident. Are you doing a lot of city driving and shifting between 1-2nd gear often? How does that happen usually?

I am still getting my head spun around about this winch power cable run to the rear bumper. :goingcrazy:

2/0 is thicker than my thumb, and costs as much as buying a young child($450 quote for what I need). Seems way overkill.

I think I am going to go with 2guage and just be aware that I cant do 45 minutes of 10k lb pulls. Monitor the power cable's with my FLIR camera on my phone if its an extended winch session.

That's the best I can do. :argue:
