dark black flares look so good though compared to flat gray ones lol

I hear the heat gun trick works short term but long term it makes them fade worse, I've never tried it though...I just repaint mine

Yeah I keep hearing about painting them; Mike linked the paint he used but I'm just too lazy to work on my trucks aesthetics.

I've done a mod or two
They're aluminum, should be sorta silver in color. If it's black it isn't OEM

What's the best way to clean factory headlights to get them back to clear instead of foggy?

I mostly just repaint mine because after the cutting and trimming and smashing the hell out of the driver's side one, I just don't care enough about them to take too much time on it. Just pull them off and spray paint them then pop them back on, I just use basic black spray paint nothing fancy

    I replaced them.

Wasn't going to refinish and clear coat old lenses.

I just use the basic headlight restorer kit that the auto parts stores sell. Some are more expensive than others but they all work about the same. If your headlights are too far gone though you might need something more professional, or replacement, IDK.

Either the 3M or Sylvania restore kits. Won't save you money, just time. Eventually you'll need to do it again or replace.

Did the same on the Taco, see my pic above. The 4runner headlights cleaned up amazingly with those 3M polish kits and a cordless drill.

    Driver's side cleaned, passenger not.

I thought about replacing them but I don't really want to put some on that are cheap and will look like the ones I have sooner than later.

I'll give it a try, can't make them much worse (I hope).

The kits have a few tiny round wet sanding pads, a small packet of polish. I use 3m pro foam pads cut small and 3m polish. Coppertone greaseless sun tan lotion for uv with each hand wash.

    Huh? I could care less.

Mine are like 50 shades of grey haha. Light grey on top, dark black on bottom.
