He messed up and charged me PayPal fee so instead of refunding me the free he threw in a hat and T-shirt. Great quality stuff too.

Well im hesitant to say that all is well, but i changed out the thermostat again to the 170* (the 180 was completely upside down:anonymous:)

just got back from driving it on the hwy and it doesnt appear to be filling up the res anymore. Also the continuous bubbles are no longer present in the reservoir. Just a few very small ones now and when revved up, they didnt increase with the rpms. Turned the truck off parked on a hill with the nose facing up, and even after turning the motor off, there were a few of the small bubbles, which i think is just the air bubbles purging the system.. fingers crossed, but for now, i think all is well:D

seriously cant thank yall enough, really appreciate everyone's help trouble shooting this, yall are awesome:cheers:

Can't really give a good estimation. Always got another "newer" one with each new used engine. Ha! That being said, I did just replace mine . Was seeping out of the weep hole.

Edit*** My frame only has 174k on it. Lol

My weep hole started to clog at ~100k. Probably could have used it longer.

Replacing or modifying parts to this engine is like a never ending puzzle. The question is do you replace during modifying to make things easier or wait till it’s obvious to replace

It's a never ending rabbit hole right.

My engine serpentine belt has been squeaking at random for a while now. It was a Fleetrunner green. Good to 100K easily right? Wrong. I pulled it off to do my NST pulley, some of the ribs were cut. Mind you the belt has not been abused and has not been pulled off since I put it on MAYBE 30K ago. I had to run it again because I didn't have a new one handy. It's been squeaking for 15K easily.

Picked up an OE Toyota belt and did it tonight. Dead silent now. Goddamnit Gates. Fleetrunner "professional" series my nuts.

    Sorry, vent over.

I always replace while Im in there doing something else. For example, when I pull the tranny to do the clutch and flywheel, Ill replace the rear main seal. Its not leaking right now, but Im already in there, its a super cheap part, so why not replace it? Same with my NST pulleys. I have a new serp and SC belt standing by that Ill throw on because Im already in there and the old ones are already off. Saving $20-40 bucks now isn't worth having it give out and potentially cause more damage later. Call it cheap insurance.

I definitely didn't pay attention to the jiggle valve when I reinstalled the motorad 160 and had the same issue. Mishimoto keeps it dummy proof at least being one piece

Never heard of those going out or of anyone replacing them... time to do some research.

I was swapping a serp belt on an fj recently and it looks like the ac compressor would have to be moved out of the way to access the bolts that hold it onto the side of the block. I was trying to do the water pump and needed to take it off to access some bolts but instead i just took the pulley off the tensioner. Does not look like fun to replace the tensioner though. Fwiw, the fj has 280k on it and still has the original tensioner. I dont think this should be something to replace unless you really need to..

The pulley is the one which fails on the main tensioner, not the tensioner assembly itself.

I would not even CONSIDER undertaking a tensioner replacement on a 2nd gen Taco V6. I would much rather replace the pulley if I can avoid the assembly, which I would at all costs.

i was told the process on removing it. sounds like no fun.
