I had a moped in Hawaii for like 3 years and never wore a helmet. Definitely sketchy even on a little scooter that only goes 35 mph

What blew my mind living in Florida was that you can ride with no helmet but my boy got pulled over for no wearing safety glasses. I looked at the cop like so fuck my head but your worried about the eyes. I was confused as fuck about that one.

I never wear glasses under my helmet.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Yup, I hate to say it but it just doesn’t pay to be cool.
I was up in Suches GA rolling thru the mtns. Came up on a downed Harley couple. The poor dudes face looked like a pizza on one side, was wearing a brain bucket.
I carry a serious FAK with me. Dressed his wounds and stabilized his broken ribs so he could breath with the least amount of pain as possible.
So why did he wreck, hell his snazzy hog sat too low and the pegs dug in. His wife said the bike flipped around backwards and then the hit the guard rail.
WTF...dudes own bike wrecked his ass. I will never understand.

Ya, it was probably pretty stupid to not wear a helmet, even at low speeds. A crash is a crash. I got myself the Shoei RF1200 for my upcoming bike. Ain’t no way I’m chancing anything less than a full face helmet

Unfortunately, hipsters (and the SoCal crowd) are buying up the FXRs. A lot are grabbing Sporties too. Indian is really trying to get into that crowd as well. Just look at what American Flat Track has become...

Yeah I rolling crossfires as well.
Didn’t even know they made an ADV boot until recently.
I got a couple few pairs of nice pants that are over the boot style, and can’t get the cuff over the top of the boot. My boots are huge I wear a 13 and my calfs are big. Ain’t no way around shaving any weight off my calfs lol

I will have to agree with the OP.
I roll with Sidi Crossfire 3 srs model. Has a removable sole.
I also have a pair of Alpinestar Tech 7s.

I don’t own the Sidi ADV GTX but am looking at them now. For pure dirt riding I would go with more protection, that the dirt bike boot offers vs a dual sport boot.

What's your budget? The Gaerne GX-1 is a nice boot for the loot. The G. Adventure is a nice crossover for touring & off-road. Both are in the $270-$280 range.

To be fair, I don't "make" them (regularly), but I could make them if someone wanted one.

Tech 7 would be my first suggestion. I find them more comfortable than the sidi. If you want to look at sidi i wouldnt suggest the srs soles (look at the TA) after having them. Gimmicky and the bottom of the boot didnt hold up where they "clip" in. Gaerne has a huge following as well but i have not had any experience.
Ha, i dont have any over the boot style pants yet since i typically run just mx gear.

That seems like a fair price range for me. Since I'm only a weekend warrior

I'm still running the oem grips that came on the bike from 04. They are actually fairly comfy grips being stock and all. But I bought new grips for the wr450f a week after I got that bike cuz they were awful

yea this was not a needed nor required change here either, the stock grips I have on there now no real complaints

I had a mirror bolt rattle itself free along the way (I knew it was getting loose and ignored it) so in an effort to avoid the 8 bucks in shipping on a 2 dollar bolt I picked up 11 dollar grips and the order shipped for free

I did always fancy myself the light grey grip color often seen on track bikes though :anonymous:
