    I love everything about the snow and even shoveling it isn't a big deal as my folks had me helping every year since I can remember. Driving...you'd think people who get snow every year would figure it out, but no. I enjoy it, but other people lead to being thankful nobody can hear me from inside my truck.

    :eek::eek:

    Was there any consequence to the operators of the dam or compensation to those who lost revenue as a result of their mistake? Did they recognize it as a mistake or did they have no other options?

    No worries man! :fistbump:

    I would love a snow thrower but can't justify the expense for the space (driveway and courtyard) that have to be shoveled especially since we get snow that requires any shoveling only 2-3 times per year.

    I've mentioned this in other threads on TW, but I'm 99.99% sure that this will be my very last winter in the northeast. Like many others, I am affected by S.A.D. and it has been especially cruel the last few years (the current season may actually be the worst already). I would argue that the western Pennsylvania region might be the worst for this.
    Having nothing to look at but gray skies, brown trees and the general lack of sunlight is a cumulative tax on the soul, and that tax grows on a year-over-year basis beyond that.

    I have some trips planned this spring to see what else is out there, including a trip out west in April/May. Other possibilities would include the ATL and DFW regions.

    No it’s the Corp of Engineers. They want to keep a steady level at the dam for recreational enjoyment and conservation. But when the spring snow melts hit them they start making big releases. Right now they have been running a 8’ to 10’ river. They should run a 12’ to 16’ river to be making room for the melt. But in March or April they will open the gate and we will be 30’ to 34’ again this year. It’s plum fucking stupid.

    Makes sense. They can be so expensive. Some of the ones we have here for sale have all the bells and whistles and can be like 2k. It's ridiculous.

    I use a weed burner for snow.

    Unless we get a bunch, then I just get a tractor and move it.

    But, typically I just wander around the driveway with a weed burner and melt it down.

    If it is really dry snow, I use the leaf blower.

    Yeah. I looked around at the beginning of the season and they were ridiculously expensive. Even at the end of the season when they clear them out it's still too much $$ to justify.

    Mark my words...

    The instant you buy an expensive snow removal machine, ie: snow blower, thrower etc. It wont snow the next season.
