Funny you should ask Eric. My salads weigh almost as much as you by the time I am done preparing them.

Have you seen those prepared bag salads, that come with the dressings and all the toppings?
I start with one of those, then I add........
    Cherry Tomatoes
Goat or Feta Cheese, about a cup.
Roasted chicken, about a cup, or two hard boiled eggs.
    An Avocado.
    Two love beets
    Shredded carrots, about a cup
A handful of glazed pecans or walnuts
    a handful of pumpkin seeds
    Sometimes I add sweet peppers.
    No onion. Not at work.

Next time I make one I will take a pic for you. My guess is they weigh about 4 lbs.

Don't get me wrong though, I am as much a carnivore as you. I've been thinking about those Whataburgers on Texas toast since I saw them and WILL have to make my own eventually.

I only abide by this rule when I go out to eat. I can make a salad myself at home and way better and cheaper than a restaurant. Im eating out cuz it’s something I can’t (easily) make on my own

I can make most things at home as well or better than most restaurants. I do eat salads though, I usually eat salads with mixed greens though. Iceberg lettuce usually ends up giving me nasty burps all day which ain’t a good thing. I tend to add grilled chicken, cheese, and such to my salads. Most of the time when I have then it’s for lunch though.

That is great cheese. It's what I buy most of the time.

I also keep this in the house: Locatelli Pecorino Romano

I could list at least 20 things better than that. Unless it’s a cold and rainy day, then that sounds pretty damn good.

Yea, I have to admit, if this is being served, I am eating three portions! Has to be white bread though, cut thick. But the cheeses can and normally do, vary. I also prefer bacon or ham, and nice ripe tomatoes on mine. Tried the mayo instead of butter thing. Meh, not for me.

I agree, but I will say that garlic "riced" cauliflower is really good.

I'm not saying riced cauliflower tastes like rice, but I started subbing it back when I did a lower carb diet for a bit and found that I like it better than regular rice in a lot of cases. Since I dropped the diet and regressed to full on glutton, I still eat "riced" cauliflower from time to time. Rice, cauliflower, whatever the hell you call it, it's good stuff.

Oh yeah. Roasted on the grill, even. Damn. Might have to have some tonight.

I'm back to dieting with the wife. She wanted to drop a few pounds and I've put on a dozen or so in the last year that I could stand to lose. Moderation is definitely the long-term solution, but strict diets for a couple weeks/month help me get some good habits to stick again. If I get through about two weeks, I end up avoiding unnecessary sweets (e.g. grabbing from the candy dish when walking through the office) habitually for quite a while.

Good luck on your journey! I like the biking idea. I have always ran when I've stuck to an exercise rhythm, but that starts to wear on me.

Maner, get something ready to keep warm on the stove and stay bundled up. Careful if you venture out. Sounds like it'll be nasty out there tomorrow!
