I didn't realize these vehicles have so much in common until I looked at the front suspension on the LX. Damn.

Well these bitches were almost indestructible.

Neither did I, know about the fact that they had similar front suspensions.
So the Bonneville also had hydraulic accumulator gloves? Woooow lolol jk:D:rofl:

In seriousness now, I'm guessing the Bonneville used a torsion bar is what you're saying? Wow... Yeah extremely durable setup then. Kinda funny to see how simple the suspension on the hundred series is huh? Well besides the hydraulics on the LX but yeah

Imperial.. Torsion bar suspension. The Imperials were so indestructible they were BANNED from most demolition derby's.

Yeah def won't pop out on the 100 series. Well at least I've never heard of that happening.
Did you find lower ball joints? Toyota only sells the whole lower arm with joint in it but I remember we figured out there was a Spicer boxed joint that worked. Been a long time. And I need lower ball joints for my hundred series. Time to log onto ih8mud prolly:D

Some guy in the U.K. sells modified Citroen hydraulic suspension accumulators that run on the LX at a considerable savings.

Ahhhhh makes sense. Kinda cool to hear that. I don't care that I'm way biased or whatever, but Toyota really really did/does do things right with Land Cruiser.

I see people talking about 555 ball joints and MOOG. I kind of like the looks of these. I saw some of these blue boots on the the LXs that I looked at a while back.

I'm getting fully plugged into all of the AHC suspension tricks. I'm sure I'll come up with some cool sauce for this one.

Turns out that one of my buddies has built and resold several Cruisers.

This thing reminds me of some highly gadget-ed car from early 1960s.

But the Dobinsons look so nice. Don't you want adjustable coilovers? :D

I would be very very leery of running a Mevotech part. They're made in the same Chinese factories.
But 555 has always been my go to for Cruiser parts. The owner of Cruiser Outfitters turned me into 555, not as a replacement for OEM but as a cheaper alternative:D
I think the lower ball joint was Spicer, I could've sworn it was. At least a Spicer box, I thought. That was before my years learning supply chain and manufacturing stuff.

It's super nice and pulls hard. I'm actually driving a GX460 as a loaner while the TB and WP are being done. That, even though new I don't like it as much. Except for the black interior and LED headlights. Those are nice on the newer models.
