Didn't read the whole thread so this may have been mentioned. You can still get a brand new Frontier for around 20 grand. Pretty good deal for a new pickup.

I test drove a 2002 (I think, it's been a while) Desert Runner with the supercharged 6 cylinder, it was pretty nice but didn't have the power I expected.

I mean the upcoming new Frontiers, not the current one, unless it has the same 4-banger...

Nissan used to be something back in the 90s. Forced induction, 2 seats, cast iron blocks that could be built up. Emission regs killed the classic japanese muscle car.

I had a very clean, tastefully lowered 1991 240sx that was a blast to drive until i ran a red light and hit a bmw

Are you talking about the 300ZX? Is this also what killed the original Supra?

    Pretty much.

The 240sx was NA but it had the cast iron "truck " motor from those hardbodies you were talking about earlier, (KA24DE) i believe. It wasn't as nice the coveted SR20 (aluminum) but they were mod friendly and fairly bulletproof.

Lots of good memories driving around like an idiot in that thing

Pretty soon a manual trans is going to become an option that you have to request

Had a 09 and 2017 Titan both 2wd and never a problem with either one. Nissan seems to be in trouble though, hope the new Fronty helps 'em out.

I remember back in August or September 2005, Thompson Nissan in Doylestown (now Fred Beans Nissan) was selling brand new base model 2WD Titans for $20K apiece; Air-conditioning and a CD player were standard, but these were the cheapest Titans you could get and they almost no other options! Crank windows, manual locks, and just a basic bench seat, but twenty grand for a brand new V8 pickup with A/C!

I can't wait to test drive it.

The 3.8L with a 9AT might finally convince me to give up my 6MT. If I like it I might even lease a '20 and wait until the all new '21+ has been out a few years before buying one (If I like the new body style that is!).

My wife and I only really need one vehicle but she has a hard time driving manual so, until I give up my 6MT we will have two vehicles. Problem is I've never driven an automatic that I was completely happy with so we shall see.

Business as usual. The last year of a given Nissan generation has been known to bring "under the sheet metal" changes for the next generation. They do that to avoid problems by introducing everything all new in a new generation.

Interesting that the V6 will be the only engine option.

Coincidentally, the GTR uses a 3.8L. I wonder how much they have in common.

I think I know the next step for a Nismo version. A familiar looking beast.

I've been reading up on it and it seems like they took the VQ40DE and modded the hell out of it which is pretty sweet.

Did they ever actually make Starion race cars, or did somebody build that themselves from a stock one?
