There are definitely some stuff called out by engineers that make you scratch your head thats for sure.

O I hear you on people not having pride. Thankfully by the time the welders and mechanics i work with get to be nucs they are the better people. But then we have people like a lady in our cal lab who was just signing torque wrenches off as in cal without ever testing them. Mind you these are the ones used for subsafe and critical nuc work. Thankfully both programs mandate a 2nd torque wrench verification or it has to be single point checked.

    Update:
, finally got my ESAB REBEL 205 back from the shop a little while ago and burned some wire.. After them replacing the high frequency board, it seems to be a different machine, better...
I think the one that came in it, was bad from the start... I hope it stays trouble free:fingerscrossed:

Just finished up my next bender that uses JD2 dies. Not a ton of welding on this, but enough for the anything welding thread. I didn't have much tubing around, but was able to bend some 1-3/4" x .120 with ease. This die is an 1-3/4" (5.5") Model 3 die.

    Reserected from the dead.
you will never get dross free cuts cutting thick iron. You are at the limit of the capabilities for the plasma cutter.

Nozzle dip is not going to help extend the life of the consumables.

    I hate you....

    J/K!
wow, what a nice build! sure does beat the pants of the tube bender I tried to make. ( and failed at! )

kinda looks like a Rouge Fabrication bender.
    any plans for a DRO?

Look for "clean" cut specs for the machine. That piece might've been to thick. Also, you have to do a drag at a constant speed.

The Rouge benders are a bit different, but super nice. I do have a Rouge rotation/index gauge for the DRO.

I'm working on another bender that's a bit easier to build, and most likely cheaper. Once that's finished I'll have plan for sale for anyone interested.

Well worth the extra $100. I still need to add a garage door spring it so it'll compress on its own. Doing it again I would find a used electric hydraulic setup. Much fast, and super quiet.

An air dryer at the plasma machine is the best thing to extend consumable life. 50,000 degrees and moisture don`t mix .

How many amp machine is that?? That sure looks like a severance cut meaning far thicker then normal material.

New to plasma it does have a learning curve The whole idea is to have ready to weld cut parts.

Travel speed and torch angle play into the amount of slag enough practice it can go away if your working within the quality cut range I have customers do it all the time.

I did install a dryer after my compressor. Pretty low humidity here in CO anyway. It's a 50 amp machine. The fact that it went through that 1/2" round bar like butter makes me think that it should be able to do it if I operate it right. That last picture with the dross is just a horse shoe so 1/4" or so? From the little bit of reading I did, I think I was just going too slow (arc jumping around trying to find more material to cut)

Where the moisture comes from is the heat of compressing the air as it cools it condenses the Humidity does not really play into as much as people think.

The guy that built it for me is from Australia. So rhd trucks, the brake booster is on the exhaust side. So it was super tight to the head. Like couldnt even fit a finger between the hot side of the turbo and the valve cover. That was a little too close for me. Spaced it out 2 inches and now I like where it's at.

I welded in a few gussets, finished the bar across the tailgate, which will eventually be removable, capped the ends, and cut out a few more gussets at different angles to match the Ruffstuff material.
