hey everyone Josh here new to the site. think the site is awsome lots of great info. i currently own a 09 frontier always owned hardbodies and loved them but im not in love with the frontier im going to order a 2011 tacoma very soon! reasons i dislike the frontier i hate traction control! paint chips like crazy, windshield chips, dash rattles steering wheel is crumbling, and i regreat buying the auto. i also want to add that it only has 20k on it and i dont live on a stone road hahah ok so i want a double cab short bed 4x4 in timberland mica trd, what i want to know is about the options like limited slip, or the locker that comes from the factory, or any thing else you guys/girls would of gotten thanks

I love that color! Very rare color where I live. I personally like the looks of the sport better but opted for the off road just for the locker. It's easier to paint a couple pieces than put a locker in. Now go order it already, your missing out on valuable modding time!:D

not to many, love it the way it is
I'm not sure what you experienced with the Frontier but you will get slightly better gas mileage with the auto trans in the taco as compared to the manual trans.

all tacos come standard w/ the auto LSD and TRAC. only other option is to get the TRD OR and get the locker. also, all v6 models come w/ 3.73 gears from the factory. never heard of anyone having the ability to change these

Did extensive research on this subject. I hate chrome and wanted the rear locker, so i had to get the o/r and remove the chrome myself also had to get 5 ft bed cause o/r doesn't come w/ long bed.Aftermarket lockers are pricey but if you want the sport look you can add one probably for less than the hood/grill/rearbumper you'd need but not much less i'm afraid. I put serious thought into a DC LB sport Then adding an arb air-locker but decided for the bit of wheeling i do i'd just go with the factory locker instead. There are no other axle ratio's and i could be wrong but i dont think there is a need to change those unless you go monster truck style. As everyone else has said they all come with a LSD that works auto or can be shut off. P.S. I'd look for a leftover 2010 and save a ton only diff is front grill (which most people dont like) unless you want a t/x Pro that is

I have owned stick shifts all my life and I would typically never say this to anyone on any car.

Stay away from the Taco 6 speed. The RPM hang absolutely KILLS the shift feel. Auto gets better MPG also.

damn. i wanted the TM so bad but none of the dealerships here had it in 4x4. MGM is still good though.

    welcome to the site!
