All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I prefer my in the boot pants as well.
I roll the MX gear in the summer, and the ADV stuff on longer trips/winter. I experienced some crazy shit the other day. Was riding on my 1190r for solid while, when all of the sudden the top of my boot, on the inside got wedged in the cowling of the bike. Basically locked my leg into the side of it for a moment.
Was very odd and I immediately started looking at this as an issue for riding that bike with my MX boots.
Sucks as I actually prefer to use my crossfires on that big ass bike.
Maybe I will make a plug or get the kit ktm sells, thats a piece of plastic that redirects the airflow.
Anyway, that shit wasn’t cool, as it made it almost impossible for me to engage my rear brake.

I think that's gonna be the next bike I pick up one of those adv bikes. How comfortable are they?

That's not cool. Where is his vegan soy latte?

I know you're joking but I love ACDs and they are super smart! I am on my second. Well, I guess 1.5 because the current pup is only half, but still...sharp as a tack.

I prefer to wear high top work boots like Chippewa or Red Wing when I ride. The leather provides good protection and they offer decent ankle support. I always buy non slip sole (all that fluid in the road at stop lights can be a bitch) and composite toe, too. Perhaps they don't quite offer the same protection as some of the designated riding boots but they are quite comfortable.

Oh, and they go with the whole Harley hipster/sportster bro persona too. :)

Oh, he is quite the smart little shit. He’s very good at pushing and testing his limits to see what he can get away with.

I have a pair of red wings somewhere actually. Those would probably be good boots to ride in. Just gotta find them... think they may be at my parents

I have ridden every style bike that is made, except for those weird 3 wheeled things that just came out.
I have to say the ADV bikes are my jam.
I love me a street fighter or cafe bike, just sold my 1290r Super Duke, because it wasn’t getting ridden enough though. I found myself really enjoying longer rides to a destination that may or may not be paved.
The bike advs are a handful weight wise, so as you can see a lot of people are focusing on a 700/800cc bike as their go to. I will say if you can, ride both displacement sizes before you focusing on one specific bike. Like a 1000 and a 700/800.

    Hilarious. :poking:

Well see what they say tonight. If I could get a new one at msrp (or less, which won’t happen) with 0% I’d be awfully tempted to sign away....

They had me at like 17.7k for a new softail street bob. I can’t remember if that included tax or not. They wouldn’t give me the APR until I agreed on a price and went to finance. They also didn’t have any black ones in stock and were trynna get me to get another color I said no. They finally said they had one in an offsite warehouse and would ship it. But I’m still not quite on board with 17.7k for a new one

Fully agree with you guys. It’s just not worth it to risk it with protection. Asphalt doesn’t give a shit about how cool you look.
