I was having a hard time keeping up with everyone that was telling me to stop being cheap and do it right.

    :bananadead:

I read all your input, it helped in pushing me to just put it in the bumper.

One of the reasons I love you guys is you dont stop. If I am doing it wrong you tell me over and over and over. I really need that as I am stubborn to a point of no good.

I try real hard to listen to those who know wtf they are talking about, that was why I asked for assistance.

For shits and giggles I looked at hydraulic winches. Unfortunately adding a 3000-5000 psi hydraulic system to power it along with the control valves would be significantly more expensive than 0-ga cable. It's more appropriate for farm tractors and construction equipment that already has a hydraulic system for other functions.

Then I could run a snow plow, or bush hog, or core drill....endless possibilities with hydraulics

    :duh:

A friend of mine built a hydraulic which for his Land Rover. Its crazy powerful but cost a tonne, is very heavy and was expensive.

There is a system you connect to the power steering pump lines which lets you use it as the pump for the winch. ;)

No idea if it would work on a Tacoma's system though, and probably by the time you're done screwing around....

You're not accusing me of; knowing what I am talking about....
I won't take credit for that....

I just wanted credit for being an asshole and giving you a hard time... Don't worry I won't stop.

I have a quota you know.

Lol negative. My rig needs to lighten up if anything. Pto driven winches are pretty cool. Had one for logging. Was interesting and scary

You sure the compressor only draws 9 amps? My twin draws 40 amps each compressor, 80 amps total.

also these charts are a good reference

As sure without actually measuring. I got the little compressor, not the highlighted one, smaller unit listed above it.
