My 98 is fogging up the windows on defrost. How bad is it to do a heater core on these?

Comes down to how you define bad!!

    Do you have AC ?

It is not hard just time consuming to get to the heater core AC just means more to disconnect .

It's a pain in the ass. It's not hard but it requires removing most of the upper/lower dash. I think. I was removing all that stuff anyways so I didn't try to do as little as possible so I'm not sure. The heater core is 1 of 3 sections under the dash and I believe you can get to it by removing the A/C section in the middle to access the heater core section that sits far left behind the shifter.

My evaporator core developed a leak in 2017 and the whole dashboard had to come out when the leak was finally pinpointed over a year later; One of those rare times I’m glad I let the stealership handle it!

you never know how people work.

Myself one day apart the next day back together now.

When I was married I might take a nap in the shop 8 or 9 hours then finish up.

If it was my only vehicle then it would take 4hrs or so. If one of my many project vehicles it would be indefinite.

I was told it's quite a time consuming job as dash has to come out. Been expecting mine to start leaking as it's 24 years old and 414,000 miles. So far, so good.

Once you do one you'll figure out why labor is so expensive to have it done in a shop. Took me a couple of days and felt like I had my ass kicked in the process.

WOW. My A/C is perfect and was hoping I wouldn't have to let it out. Looks like a heck of a project.

Since it does not get real cold here I just plugged the lines and drove the truck for another year.

Driving back to Pa from Wyoming in January was real interesting the Sun felt so good .

    That was in my youth
