How much value do mods add when selling?

Value smiles, unless it is a really clean truck and a match to what somebody wants to buy. Nothing but the vaule you get out of driving it modified.

 

It does come on. But its reversible.

 

Only the stealerships can charge more for modifications lol.

 

I bought a 19 TRD PRO and I'm in the process of swapping the stock suspension for Kings lift kit with new tires and wheels. I'm planning on keep this Taco as long as she can run

 

Kings are top of the heap in off road suspensions.

 

I've never been on there but I can imagine that being correct haha.

I still don’t get the logic behind buying a pro only to gut the suspension. Just buy an Off-road, it can be had and built cheaper with same content.

 

I want to see a Toyota dealership replace the suspension on a yet to be sold Pro.

 

It’s like owning a swimming pool: half the market will find it appealing, half the market will swipe left.

 

I bought my 19 Pro for $43k OTD + $1500 cash back deal. I was in the market for the 2020 OR but with the options I wanted, the OR came out to $44k + taxes/fees. Plus, it's not like I can't sell my suspension, wheels, tires to recoup some money back. It was really a no brainier for me.

 

I saw that video too and was thinking thats exactly what I will do. Same parts lol. Just not too sure if I want NRG tires.

 

Comparing a 19 pro to a 2020 loaded OR really isnt the same. I agree it makes sense for that situation. But if you compared a loaded 19 OR which could be had for $36-37k to the 19 Pro price (whatever it was since OTD is garbage for comparison numbers), OR makes more sense. You also mentioned you were keeping the stock parts...

 

I really don't feel the need to justify what I do with my money and not sure why non pro owners make a big deal about this type of stuff. But I'll inform you anyway and I'm also bored on my lunch break lol..I live in the Bay Area(a very competitive market). Tacoma's sell like hotcakes out here. They mark up even SR5's $36k. Pros typically get marked up up to $60k+. Considering I paid $43k..that's a steal. Now a 19 off road..I'm not paying 38k without the options I want and without the color I want. If you search autotrader right now. There's only 2 2019 OR available in my area and in black. I don't want black. I want white. White is a popular color choice for most drivers, therefore they'll be harder to find. Considering all that, I got lucky to find a Pro for the price and color I wanted. I mentioned I was not keeping the stock parts. Re read my original post on this thread.

 

You don't have to justify sh*t I never said you had to, spend your money how you choose, just like I can have my own opinion even one that says paying more for a trim that is mostly about its suspension only to then gut said suspension seems silly. And again I can jump in the what did you pay for you 2019 thread and find plenty of people who paid $36-37k for a loaded TRD OR, even in Cali. My argument had nothing to do with your current situation, I even said given your two options a 2020 TRD OR or 2019 TRD Pro, price wise the pro makes sense, however if you were to compare a 2019 TRD OR price wise for what it was selling for when inventory was still available to a TRD PRO, it makes FAR MORE SENSE to buy a loaded TRD OR for $5-6k less especially if you plan on gutting the PRO suspension. Simple math...however, your situation you were limited in 19 inventory and faced with the increase in price on a loaded 2020 TRD OR (which is so close now to a 2020 Pro), so of course the pro makes sense. My comment that you decided to originally reply to was not directed to you, but those that if given the option of a $5-6k cheaper TRD OR decide to gut their Pro parts, just doesnt make sense, but my opinion, just like yours is yours.

 

Same thing if you sell a Harley. Take the major accessories off and sell them on eBay or Craig's List.
