Depends how you phrase it; double checking an independent shop's work under warranty, isn't going to happen.
Note: I'm not anti independent shop, there's good ones out there, but understand they don't get reimbursed, or are warrantied by Toyota.

No leaks. I just don’t understand how a oil filter housing on a V6 Toyota can cause a low pressure oil light to come on.

Oil has to enter and exit to be filtered. Maybe the housing is damaged in some way that alters flow and triggers the low pressure sender?

But you are right, its curious. And why I asked if you could get details of what the issue is, and how he figured it out.

I am going to guess cracked filter housing and the oil leaked out.

Who changed the oil last? The guy doing the repair?

Fickery could be afoot! OP inspect the work the dealer does. Make sure it's actually a new filter housing.

Good to know about some cars having an oil level indicator,
Absolutely. Something is definately screwy here and his unwillingness to provide details points to human error not a faulty part. The housing just holds the filter and the bypass valve, if he did something screwy to damage the bypass valve, the oil wouldn't be filtered but it would maintain pressure. Putting in the wrong filter or install the filter upside down??? Who knows? Something smells here.

I don't think it's that. I think he's just not technically savy and doesn't get off on the details like we do.

    As a side note, this is what the low oil warning looks like;

Same thing happened to my 3rd gen. My gasoline cap was not tightened enough. This is a common problem with newer cars, nothing is wrong with your truck. Take it off put it back on and make sure it clicks as youre tightening it ! The warning will go away

CEL is different than a low oil light. A lose gas cap tricks the ECM into thinking there's an EVAP leak which illuminates the CEL. This is low oil light. Completely different

Loose gas cap will trigger Check Engine Light and will go away in a day or two (depending on how much you drive).

OP's truck shows low engine pressure. Can't seem to connect how a bad/broken engine oil filter housing has anything to do with oil pressure. True if housing was cracked or broken that results in oil leak, but other than this I can't think of any reason why and per OP engine oil isn't leaking.

Since it has to do oil pressure, something isn't tightened correctly to throw warning or oil pressure sensor is bad. @SteveS197 - has the dealer or mechanic scanned it with OBDII?

Well, that was almost a week ago.

Was the problem corrected? Did you get a description of the root cause?

    We're waiting.............

i’ve seen a bad oil pressure switch /once/
Many vehicles have a low oil level sensor, including these Tacomas

^ Not true, in some circumstances companies will pay another shop to perform warranty work in extenuating circumstances — such as long distance to a dealership. Ford would anyway. Just make sure the indie shop has good record keeping, and call the mothercorp

This happened to me, but no light. I took it to a trusted shop ( great owner ) for it's first oil change after warranty, but the grease monkey knew he cracked mine when he removed the cap ( used a pry bar to do it ) and didn't tell anyone. I was lucky enough to have noticed oil on my garage floor the next morning when I moved my rig out of the way.

Shop owner looked at my photos, told me to have it towed to the dealer and he would pay for any repairs. Thank God it was just a new filter, housing, cap, and 1.5 quarts of oil. I'll go back to that shop with my gov't vehicles, but that grumpy grease monkey doesn't touch them. My wife will now only allow the dealership to do this kind of work on the my rig now.
