Did the side curtain airbag drop?

Glad everyone is ok, looks like you were close to being rolled

No airbags went off. I am assuming maybe because no passenger in the vehicle.

Tacoma fenders appear to be slightly thicker than aluminum foil:)

    Glad your OK.

I'm gonna get a dash cam as soon as I can find one that I can mount to the go pro mount. I think they make a wiring set up you can plug into the rear view mirror to power them?

Every time I'm on the road I keep thinking I'm one ass hole on a cell phone away from a wreck...even worst when I'm on my bike.

I captured an old Chevy van that passed me on the right and the freeway had a sharp bend right ahead of us. His back end slid out due to his high rate of speed and he was within inches of flipping his van down an embankment.

Good point, and regardless, glad no one was in that seat at the time! My mother was in an accident recently, and the airbags left their mark. I'm not saying they don't save lives, that's been proven, but they do come out with tremendous speed and force.

Let me guess. She was distracted and was looking down at her cell or dropped her corn dog.

You can get a smartphone app and windshield or dash mount. Total cost about $20.

Only downside is it's not wide angle, but I've found a lot of positives that make it more worth it to me than a dedicated dash cam, which are often fairly junky.

Glad you weren't injured! Mine was hit 2 weeks ago not near as bad but still sucks! Just saw it today put back together with all new bumper, TRD grill, lights etc. Will be ready next week once it goes through QC.

So I went through my insurance (USAA) and are having them work with the other insurer (State Farm). State Farm has accepted responsibility and have taken care of setting up the rental.
My USAA rep just sent me the Estimate of Record and it came out to $4866.73. That seems a bit low to me. I am keeping in mind this is the initial estimate, and I have already sent additional info asking about certain items that may not have been included in this first estimate.
Parts came out to only $2381.10 for now with the rest being labor and miscellaneous supplies. Total repair time estimated at 7 days.

Guess we will see soon enough. I will keep the truck as long as everything is set back to as close as it was before the collision. I know it won't be perfect obviously, but it ought to be pretty damn close.

    - Will NOT be done in 7 days.
    - Should post up the estimate.
    - I'm an estimator I can decipher the BS estimate for you.

That estimate seems very low, most likely all aftermarket parts. I would request that OEM parts be used; they can still deny it, but it doesn't hurt to put up a fight.

The list at the moment is all aftermarket parts. I am inquiring into that now.

Don't forget to request diminished/depreciated value due to the truck having been involved in an accident.

“diminished value” is the proper term.
