2020 TRD Off Road grill emblem

It works (TSS) on Pro and garnish it solid black.

 

Let me know how that works out for you guys.

That piece is not completely black. It's semi translucent.

But feel free to prove me wrong.

 

Since even snow and water can inhibit the TSS I'm pretty sure black paint or non transparent vinyl won't play nice. Else there would be no need for a garnish on the pro grills.

 

I haven’t had any issues with the dash light coming on saying it’s blocked at all and seems to be working fine. When i had snow stuck on the front i got a error light on the dash but with the tint so far so good.

 

Is that regular window tint? If so, what percentage? It looks great!

 

Curious if anyone knows if the tires in the OP are 255 width?

I am actually getting on to make a pretty big update to that thread, havent been on in a while.

 

I’m not sure what percentage it is. The guy who tinted my windows wanted to try it out to see if it would work. He’s done emblems on other vehicles but not with a sensor so it was a test. Its not the regular window tint. It’s a lot thicker and it’s used to tint headlights and tail lights. I’ll ask when i go back in what percentage it is. Going to have my whole front windshield done in 70% to reduce UV.

Now I want to put this grill back on just wish this grill mesh was darker, I wonder what it would like painted ?

 

I like the stock grill, except for the logo. The tint looks great on yours. Looking forward to hearing what your tint guy used.

Wonder what some sort of vinyl in the TRD colors would look like.

I was thinking just the 3 colors in strips covering the whole area. No words, or white just super simple and clean. Your concept looks good, just not for me.

 

Yeah this was just a quick and sloppy photoshop. I'm not going to do this exactly but there is an opportunity for something different to be done here for sure! Even just 3 hash marks on some satin black or something would look nice. Possibilities....

My OCD however doesn't like these designs with the colors scheme backwards though... Yellow/Orange/Red is the more classic arrangement. Still cool either way though
