I have the factory base model (non gps, non xm) radio in my truck.
I was looking at used head units - upgraded - OEM models same year.
Would it be plug and play?
    Thanks

Thanks, looks like a nice unit, but I would rather stay with OEM if possible.

Welcome to the forum. I assume that by base you have an SR? If so you would need to get a sat antenna and larger trim piece. Other than that I think it’s an easy mod. Others smarter than me should chime in soon.

Thank you. Yea I knew about the trim piece and antenna. I'm willing to get those things as long as the radio itself is just plug and play. I don't know why it wouldn't be, but I am trying to find out for sure before I buy it. I even called the dealer today and asked and I got a "definite maybe" out of them. Thanks for the reply.

I know you want to stay OEM but seriously the best chance you have is getting a pioneer 8400, it'll have everything you want

Update: I bought an Entune premium radio (non JBL) from ebay for 325.00, got it installed. Works perfectly. Totally plug and play. Had to buy an XM antenna and gps antenna, I've ordered the larger bezel. Everything working like it should.
Now where the heck is my am/fm antenna. Some say its the shark fin on the back - but I don't know. I thought the shark fin was for the xm, if it is, I sure couldn't find the access point for it. On my 2010 tacoma I used to have, it was down next to my left foot near the brake pedal. But not on the 2019. I'd like to upgrade the antenna, not very happy with the HD reception on the radio. (I'm never satisfied).
    Any suggestions?

Where’d you get the GPS antenna? The only one I can find that I know the plug will fit is $80. I see a lot that are cheaper but they don’t have the correct plug.

I just received my new entune with navigation upgrade (that I bought on this site) and I went to the dealer and called Toyota and they both said I cannot upgrade to new unit and sync my VIN. Oh well. Everything else is working fine...especially once I get the GPS antenna.
