    3x12 hammer curls @ 50

It’s weird not doing heavy heavy shit. Like legs are a little sore from the deadlifts and I sweat a ton but not “dead dead”.

    time to go eat

Welcome to prep, not everything is super heavy. You'll peak a few times at heavy lifts then reset and start back up to peak again right at comp time. It's cool how it works out, just trust the cycle.

Project "stop sucking at deadlifts" is underway.

I did lighter today. Deadlifts and trap bar deadlifts then accessories. Trying to work on sitting back more and starting the pull a little lower to build more hamstring tension/strength. It feels a lot better on my lower back doing this as it forces my upper body to stay more upright in the pull.

Man, leg day yesterday plus my first 5k today and my legs are toast. Mostly from the lunges and split squats tho.

Another 300+ BB kicks the bucket early (46) ... RIP Scott Miline

Good comment (actually some good info in the comments)

Steroids grow the heart just like the rest of your muscles. The concentric thickening makes it harder to pump blood and can lead to blood clots in the heart. Steroids also increase peripheral resistance (BP) and they negatively alter your lipid profile leading to arterial blockages. Nandrolone and other drugs have been shown to cause the death of heart cells which then become fibrous and inflammatory and cause the heart to not beat effectively. Steroid use will raise your hematocrit and increase clotting factors. Possibly worst of all, steroids interrupt electrical signaling across the heart leading to arrhythmias which can drop you even faster than a heart attack. Just being big and training hard puts a large demand on your heart and then you handicap it in all the above ways and it's no surprise that dudes end up dying way too early. John Romano (love him) used to say "show me the bodies". Well now we have them. Nasser, Piana, McCarver, Kovacs, Matarazzo + many others and now Scott Milne RIP. All of the men who hit 400+ muscular pounds die an early death. Most of the 300lb guys still chasing size end up dying in their mid to late 40's. In fact the stats show that if you are over 250 at 50 you are at increased risk of dying early. And you can be really unlucky and die of a heart attack in your twenties like Jessie Marunde. Bodybuilding is a great sport and playing the size game is fun but if your going to play it, do it while you are young and resilient. As you get older, you have to re-invent yourself like Jay Cutler who still looks good and is sticking around to enjoy the success he has earned.

    Yeah I'm that 300lb+ man....

Anndddd this right here is why I monitor BP daily, get full blood work every 6 months as well as yearly artery doppler checks... If anything ever comes back looking off I am done and cutting back to 240lbs or less.

Also, a lot of these enlarged organs in these guys are due to crazy amounts of HGH. I don't think normal cycles of testosterone are going to do much there. Either way, I'll never fuck with HGH. As for hematocrit that's easy to keep in check by donating blood.

It's scary to think about for sure, but it's obvious these guys are hardcore abusing gear. Way more than 99% of people who use are doing.

Not sure but here was a comment (talking about Dallas McCarver) from a smaller guy just taking normal cycles ..

left ventricle hypertrophy depending on how long you've had it and how bad it was you can actually reverse sometimes. I know because I did it.my regular doctor said it couldn't be reversed but I did not have any arterial sclerosis or anything It was just an enlarged heart. They put you on some severe alpha and beta blockers and did not do any heavy weight training for two years is what it took for me. My injection fraction went completely back to normal after it was down to 37%. But again I probably wasn't like that for more than 6 months. You have it too long you develop tissue between the cells that will never go away. And if you got it from growth hormone the non-contractile portion of your heart actually grows your screwed. I'm with you man I think Dallas would have been dead no matter what. His condition was further advanced than I've ever heard of on anyone that was alive. definitely something you don't ever want to get I went from 235 lb at 5 ft 10 down to 148. Only thing I could do was cardio. Not to mention Dallas McCarver had thyroid cancer. That's what happens when you pound all kind of growth hormone IGF-1 and insulin and don't increase thyroid hormone to go along with it. Your thyroid has to work extra hard and that causes a certain type of thyroid cancer. There was some supposed natural athletes 20 years back in the Olympics that got the same kind of cancer from using growth hormone. And that specific type of cancer you only get from growth hormone and your thyroid not being able to produce enough t3. I have long and stay safe my friend at least we know better than that.

Again, a lot of talk about HGH. That shit scares me and I will never touch it. Hell, I doubt I will even touch Tren as I like my hair too much lol

I wonder if poor genetics or family heart conditions contribute to any of these guy's issues. I have heard a few BB guys and strongman competitors who just naturally had shit hearts and arteries. They blasted gear and destroyed themselves even faster. Sigmarsson comes to mind there, he had known family history of heart defects. His heart basically exploded while doing a deadlift.

I think the lighter BW you can stay and look good at the better ... being too heavy, fat or muscle is just too much for the heart in the long run ... like living past 50.

Agree Tren is toxic af .. you're smart and faster staying leaner than the tubs.

I've pretty much decided my max comp weight is gonna be 325lb. I'm at 310lb now and while I do feel comfortable, I definitely feel the weight and have new aches I never felt before. I'll drop back down to about 285lb in the next month or so, then start to climb again after 5-6 months off.

It's a balancing act, and you gotta be able to know when to quit. Something these guys just don't do.

I’m sure the T causing blood thickening doesn’t help combined with the HGH side effects.

That part about thyroid cancer is creepin me out.

Just got back in the gym this past Sunday. Its amazing what you lose in 4 months of not going and sucks when you let yourself get out of the habit. But been twice this week and heading back Friday and Sunday. The gym is full right now from everyone that decided January was a good time to start.l hit it about 515-530 am to beat the larger crowd.I also road bike with a group and that starts in about 4 weeks. So cardio between the stationary bike and rowing machine for 30 minutes too.Terrible to say but 10 minutes on the rowing machine about killed me after doing legs, back, and some core.
    @enforcertaco91 try 63...just gets worse:annoyed:
