I can't imagine it affecting the sound that much if at all. The muffler is whats doing all the noise reduction. Everything behind it is just routing the gases away from the truck. No matter how much it affects the sound it's not going to be near as load as the MBRP you were considering. Now THAT would make it sound like the shitbox at at the end of the block.

I’ve heard different opinions on that. But it seems like the TRD is going to be a little more respectable as far as sound goes while still sounding good.

Yeah man. I love my TRD system. Just wish it was a smidge louder. That being said you can't beat the OEM build quality.

Have the TRD system. Perfect sound in my opinion. Not excessive. Minimal in cab noise but outside noise is spot on.

I will never buy another Magnaflow product. The catback on my first gen rusted and fit like shit. I barely even drove that truck and after two winters is was shit

look into black widow mufflers. Nice deep tone and absolutely no drone inside the cabin. https://www.blackwidowexhaust.com/
If you want to replace the whole system, I'd recommend Borla

duals will kill your low end torque and as we all know this truck needs all the low end it can get.
I got the Borla and love the sound. Still quiet but sounds better than the stock. From what I can find it's suppose to be the same as the TRD exhaust but I haven't ridden in a 3rd Gen with TRD so I can't say from personal experience. I also did not use the back half of the Borla so I didn't have to chop anything for axle clearance. sound is a tad bit louder but not by much. Looks cleaner without an exhaust hanging out the back in my book

Dual exhaust is for hillbilly’s. Have Gibson and sounds far better than others I’ve heard.

I'm satisfied with my OEM TRD system. Nice deep tone, not too loud, looks good and no drone.

    Canada Eh!
Chopping any exhaust after the muffler will barely, if at all, change the sound to someone standing outside.

What it might do is increase the noise slightly in the cab.
