Anyone have an OEM 3rd gen bumper around they'd sell and/or anyone interested in a mobtown standard rear w/ dual swingout for cash + OEM bumper? I think I'm about done arguing with toyota and no sense in adding this shit if I'm just going to dump the truck.

Probably going to have a full set of Fox 2.5's and some mobtown weld-on sliders here soon too.

Well, then he messaged me back and said his buddy asked about it and he owes him one. Said he would let me know if that falls through. Saves me a trek to Arlington for now I suppose.

While on the topic of German workhorses.... came across this beauty the other day:
    IMG_20200204_101359399.jpg IMG_20200204_101408552.jpg

looked like a frame of restoration with nothing spared including the serial tags on the transaxles etc. Cameras everywhere also.

What are you looking to get?

I'd literally give a kidney and probably a testacle or two for that Mog but not really sure at this point... Starting to look towards a Gladiator since I really still want a truck and I'm willing to trade any sense of reliability for its capability given my former life as a driveability tech.

Oooooh sexy.. a 416 I believe. Original thought was a 406 or 409. Wondering if it's a standard flat bed or a dump bed.

The closest I ever came to owning one was, having the keys to a S.E.E. for a few days in a desert far far away back in 90/91

I was waiting for the J-truck to come out before buying my taco. When the pix started showing up of the body, I couldn't see me owning one. Bought the Taco before the Glad hit the dealerships and have not regretted my decision at all.

That said and a pipe dream... I'd take this D110 all day long (remove the bed cover of course) over the JT. Has the small diesel, but doesn't matter. Out of my price range too. https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1987/land_rover/defender/101245765

I'm looking for a way to try out RTT Camping without making a huge investment in a rack and RTT for the Tacoma - just in case I can't convince my wife its all that much fun ;) We are entering our 50s now and I really haven't been able to do any camping since I was a teenager. If she and I like it; then I don't mind making a fairly significant investment, but I'd like to give it a try first.

Would anyone have any ideas on how I might be able to rent an RTT or maybe a camp trailer with an RTT? I thought about buying something cheap on Craigslist, but if its too low quality; it won't help convince the wife. I tried to look at things like Turo.com, a local RV Rental place, and Outdoorsy.com but what they had wasn't really an Overland sort of experience. Any feedback or ideas on how I could try things out (at least semi-locally) would be welcome. I saw some places where I could rent an outfitted Tacoma, but a Weekend in the Shenandoah Valley where we could bail at any time would be a safer test than heading out to Colorado or Utah for a longer more involved trip.

    Welcome!

I ran into these guys a few years ago and they seemed legit. That said, I have no idea on the prices and so on. The down side is, they are down in North Carolina. If something new popped up in the last few years locally, I have no idea.

the below link is to an off road trailer setup with an RTT.

    https://www.roverentals.com/

Hopefully the guys here can chime in with there thoughts on the pros and cons to your questions.
