If history is any indicator of future outcomes, yes you will probably still be waiting in March. October came and went with no updates from our good friends at Marlin.

I just wanted to make sure the people i talked to about this are covered at the best price possible. I will have the one extra on hand and will also have them machine an oil seal extension housing to go with it.

Any news on the spline adapter and seal extension?

I can have them made whenever you all are ready. The shop has the designs and information they need to turn the next batch. It'll take about 2 weeks on the oil seal extension housing and 3-4 weeks on the spline adapter.

OP has been updated with drawings from the machine shop of both parts, for those that want to see the final design. I got permission to post these from the shop.

Pricing for both parts in this next batch of 3 is $784 + taxes. That's $600 for the adapter, and $184 for the oil seal extension housing.

As I have stated previously, if 2 people commit to buying the parts I will cover the 3rd one to get us the $600/ea pricing on the adapters.

Did you hear from Marlin too? Word on the street is that they are putting inchworm plates on some their crawl boxes and shipping them. :gossip:

@hoverlover is supposed to be getting a package from them soon. :boink:

Should be any day now. They told me "about three weeks" about three weeks ago. Tracking number is no longer valid.

I keep reading people saying it's the first mod they should have every done. That's quite the statement so I'm obviously pretty eager to put it to the rest.

I'm also curious to see if Marlin is sending over an Inchworm coupler and seal. If so, I'd still like to get a set from you to have as a spare. I'm not ok with waiting God knows how long for Marlin to ship a replacement should I tear mine up. It'll be a pretty paperweight on my desk at work until I need it

Did you tell them it was for a manual trans? I thought I remembered you told them it was for an auto just so they would build it. If they got their hands on some of those old inchworm parts, that'd be awesome for you. I'd be interested in comparing the inchworm design and fit to mine.

Yes, when they called to ask about the Inchworm stuff they confirmed it was for an auto. I asked them if shipping times would be any different for a manual. They said it would be about the same so I went ahead and updated the order to a manual just in case they do happen to send over the correct coupler.

If they do send me the correct parts, I'll be happy to get measurements for you.

    @konajesse

I am not sure when you placed your order with marlin in relation to Alex, but maybe it's worth giving Marlin a call and finding out if they actually have the adapters for the MT available with the stock they purchased from Inchworm, and if they can set one aside for you.

I would hate for you to spend almost $800 on custom machined parts with me only to find out that marlin already has old inchworm stock available and wouldnt charge you additional for them.

I will give them a call on Monday and see. I am planning on picking up a auto transfer case to use with the crawl box.

Call them last week. Still pretty far down on the list, but the said it will be coming with the adapter to go to a manual trans. Still keep me on the list for your adapter just in case.

Good deal. That's a huge win if they aren't charging you extra for those parts, because that adapter is significantly more complicated and expensive to manufacture for the manual than it is for the auto. I am curious to see if they are shipping old inchworm parts or if they actually got their shit together and designed their own. My money is on them shipping old inchworm parts.

Checking out @hoverlover build and looks like he got his crawl box in and installed.
