    Sorry, can't resist...

More accurately, a percentage of Pascals drop for every percentage of Kelvins.

Please don't make me do the math, which would be hilarious if it turns out to be 1psi for 10degF in the exact 10degF range you happen to have measured to get your rule.

I like to max out tire pressure at 88psi. Gets the mpg up.

And more accurately, the tire pressure is affected by altitude also.

Most accurately, technically it doesn't. :)

    Psia vs Psig.

Door says 30psi for all 4. Running OEM tires it’s perfectly fine for me. I check psi with a gauge once a month and it’s always dead nuts with my TPMS readings. My garage is temp controlled, so I park the truck outside for a few hours before checking my cold psi.

Psia vs psig is just a unit of measure. One being absolute psi measuring with atmospheric and one measuring psi ignoring atmospheric. Tire pressure gauges measure in psig because atmospheric is already in the tire to start. Therefore an increase in altitude of a tire filled to 32psig at sea level will see a balance of forces change when increasing altitude. This effect is pretty mild though.

So on the coast the atmosphere is 14.7psi and in Colorado it is 12psi. The change in outside pressure will be -2.7psi. Will the tire just expand a bit to account for the change in force or will the pressure show an increase of internal pressure? I would be interested in knowing that.

“However, as altitude increases, atmospheric pressure decreases.
Climbing higher in altitudemeans the air offer less resistance, which creates a higher level of pressure within the tire itself. To keep your tires perfectly balanced, pressure should be adjusted while you are at higher altitudes and again at lower.”

I belive the actual expansion or stretching of the tire is minimal. But, because the tire is made of different materials in different places in the tire, the shape of the tire is altered which changes the internal volume to accommodate the change in air pressure. This means there will be an actual change in air pressure at different elevations.

Currently at 0 psi because runflats. My tires grip so well on the trail. I also converted to 2wd to improve MPG.

I also took out all that needless 4wd stuff and converted the dial to a coffee maker. 4hi for 1 cup, 4 lo for 2.

Legit. I think I'll convert my switch to inflate my blow up doll. I keep her behind the back seat. I'm never alone .

Genius. I always kept mine at home, but the new possibility for endless road head is literally blowing my mind.
