I couldn't bare the sight of my faded flares any longer so I painted them. Not sure if I like the way they came out, what do you guys think?

Look good to me, I know I'll have to paint mine in the future. I didnt think they would look new forever but they have faded stripes in them after only 18 months.

    What did you use?

I was debating leaving them off but wasn't sure how to patch the holes and also fix the small rust spots under there. My other concern was how close color patch pain would be if because it would defiantly need a re-paint under there.

I decide to scuff up the krylon fusion and re sprayed them with ultra-flat black. Looks soooo much better. Maybe i'll post a pic in the a.m.

RustOleum Ultra-Flat Black on top of Krylon Satin Black. Hard to see much of a difference in this picture but in real life it is like night and day.

Looks good bud you should shoot a little of that paint on the UCA's it would make your wheel well look a whole lot better.

I just bought the Mr. Clean magic eraser 4pack for 5 bucks, and hit all the flares while they were still on the truck with it. It removes all of the oxidation from the plastic. Took me about 15 mins and 2 beers to do all 4 :)

Thanks guys. I was thinking about line-xing the wheel wells and panting all the visible suspension parts black.

Almost forgot to mention that i'm missing 2 of my molding pieces that go around the flare and I also broke a few clips but I'm not to worried about it.

No they won't. I have 33's & I can still clearly see the UCA. Just clean the rust of them & paint em.

Only a few? :) I pretty much break them all when I take my flares of to get painted. A few of them are pretty hard to get to from the inside. Just easier to replace them all IMO but there's a lot of them & two different types.

Looks good but what happened to the seals? Without them you'll get all kinds of crap under that can cause wear. They'll also rattle and rub the paint off the body.
