I'm not sure. I only scrutinized the ingredients. It might not have been either of those. I'll have to look at the store receipt.

The KFC thing is just nuggets and wings from what I understand. The bad part of a lot of these meat substitutes is they are really high in other things that aren't good for you in order to make them taste decent.

Ya I'm about as far from a vegan as you can get. :)

I just saw something about someone making a cocoa crusted smoked pork shoulder. Now I'm trying to figure out exactly what they used. I think that might be pretty good.

It's funny a lot of Vegans I've known over the years usually ended up eating meat again or they would eat it now and then. One I knew tried bacon and that was her gateway meat into a full blown frenzy. lol

One of the podcasts I listen to went in depth on the Impossible burger and what all they had to do to get that near meat taste. The genetic engineering needed to get yeast to produce heme, which is what makes it taste meaty, is not natural. I have some concerns about long term use of a product like that. I recently learned that humans DNA can be changed due to outside influences and passed on to subsequent generations. i.e. Agent Orange exposure affecting grandkids of Vietnam Vets. So I will hold off on the latest greatest genetical engineered food product. I think the Earth can survive cow farts for another generation or two while the Birkenstock crowd tests this stuff for me.

Lol. It's ok to try new things sweetie.

Totally this. There were a bunch of oils listed as ingredients. Not that all oils are crappy but they do add extra stuff to help make them tasty.

Well hell I do my part of keeping cow burps and fart in check by eating those polluting animals as often as possible. :)
