i would assume that’s so you don’t have to reach over the lids to get your stuff out when reaching over the side of the bed

By that time, you'll be able to go to your local Toyota dealer and ask for the "Dumpster Fire" Edition. They'll know what you mean and give you a sweet discount.

Yea, guess they already know the bed will be empty and as long as it can clear the RTT that the instabros will have on a bedrack, all that will matter is they can pull out a Mich ultra or some skinny water.

They also are giving you 18 inch wheels with that package so obviously the Toyota guys from the factory come on this website a lot!

While these boxes might not be for everybody, I sure hope they work on their marketing.

Like others have suggested, it has some potential for some of the market.

But dumping in a bunch of soda in the box for any press release is just phoning it in.

Supports the need for a thorough marketing study.

They are going to be needed from all those keg-orator cubbies thrashing around in the bed now.

Indeed, the bed coolers are kind of a gimmick. It's this other stuff that leaves me scratching my head.
    - "based on the SR5" - so no Off Road Bilsteins, Crawl Control, or MTS (?)
    - "they also offer the choice of 2WD or 4WD" - but it's a TRAIL EDITION!!
    - "features a set of Dark Gray 18-inch TRD Off-Road wheels with Kevlar All-Terrain tires" - poor choice, and assuming its those garden variety Goodyears... an even poorer choice

WTH would there be a need for "three front cupholders"? Is that so metrosexuals can have their choice of Caffe latte, organic juice, or just straight water for their cruise around the mall? What a joke, but I am sure they will sell all 7k of them. Just be sure to get 3 TDR Pro drink coolers for your over-priced SR5 for a complete Toyota outdoor trail experience!

As someone posted above, the 'newer' Tacomas get, the more I like the older ones. BTW, the price of my 01 jut went up $5-10k.

It's that steep, rough trail up to the Latte shop. Farmer's Market? "Oh sir, you'll need the 4x4."

I'm guessing the 18-inch is a typo. From the pictures they just look like gray TRD-OR wheels/tires.

Why would a "Trail" Edition have a air-dam/deflector in front of that tire? Doesn't make sense.

I was gonna say it. That is one of the 2 things I miss about my Ridgeline. Nothing else.

The other thing you ask? The 2 way tailgate was also awesome! It's just too bad it wasn't a real truck!
