Oh boy, where do I start... so much info with little background.

    I'll just keep it simple:
    • Many of those athletes already had terrible genetics (not muscle, obv LOL) and ignored them (esp you Dallas)
    • 300 pound+ is ridiculous at their leanness (overkill, dumb, dumb dumb -did I say dumb?)
    • Many of those athletes abused other forms of drugs not roid related
    • HGH is the primary reason for organ growth, not roids
    • Tren is amazing, it's the king for a reason. Although many cannot tolerate the sides (prob dosing too much)
    • Test is the least effective RBC increase (it's the other drugs extracted from T)
Could go on, but you get the idea. No, I am not saying they are safe, they have massive cons, and especially at their levels. I think BB is ridiculous the way it's turned. Anyone over 220 pure muscle is just pushing the limits. The amount of drugs and food I need to hit the BB level is absurd... and for the length of time.. No thx

First time on this thread but wanted to contribute.................Kinda a long story so I apologize. I have been working out for years. Gone up in down with fitness and body weight like I am sure a lot of us have. The biggest thing is starting and getting motivated, after a couple of weeks it's all good, at least with me. I am Federal LEO so to stay in shape is key. Well I wanted to pass on what happened to me and hopefully will never happen to you.

I have P90x and have had it since 2006 I think, love the work outs and that is how I got motivated again back in 2019. As I said all good, love the different workouts and I feel it works for weight training and cardio. For the back exercises I was using workout bands............some see where this is going I think. I was consistent with the 6 days a week and felt pissed if I missed a day. I was at 26 weeks of constantly doing this and felt awesome.

In October 2019, I was transferred back to HQ in DC and a new home obviously so I was waiting on my household goods to arrive. I had brought weights and my bands to keep going. October 30, 2019 only 3 weeks after being back in DC I got home from work was doing legs/back. As stated new house and no household goods (pullup station where I hook bands) not arrived yet, so I placed the band over top of the door with the built in door holder thing, no good way to describe it........same as I have done the previous workouts in this house and started doing my pullups...........good got thru the first set or 2 then back for wide front. Next thing I knew I was stunned and WTF I thought. The holder thing hard PVC plastic wrapped in nylon (not the band) hit me directly in my left eye. No idea how it happened, I was 4-5 feet away pulling down because I was on my butt and this thing somehow came out of the door like a missile and directly in the eye. The door was still closed. Luckily my wife was home it was 8pm she is a nurse and has been for 30 years and as soon as she saw she said we gotta go to the Winchester, VA Trauma ER. I got to the ER and the damage was so bad they at first wanted to airlift me to Fairfax VA, however they did what they could and told me to go to an eye specialist on October 31, 2019. I go and see her and she sees in 2 seconds Holy Shit you need to go see this retina DR, so away I go.........awesome Dr's by the way I got lucky in that aspect.

The hit was so hard and direct it shifted my lens and did tremendous damage to just about everything in my left eye. After weeks of treatment, follow up etc. I am able to have surgery to remove the damaged lens etc. That surgery was done on 11/25/2019. Dr. said we got lucky, because if he would have waited anymore (he had to wait for stuff to heal) my entire retina would have been totally detached. I was under full anesthesia for the 3.5 hour surgery where he used a laser for my retina, removed the damaged lens (did not put a new one in) After the surgery more complications with my eye pressure rising dangerously high which we are still trying to control. Again we had to play the waiting game with follow ups weekly to see how everything was progressing. Again damage was so severe still after surgery he was not able to see if there would be permanent damage. Finally on February 4th I had an appointment with the first DR I was sent to, She is a lens specialist and would place an implant lens in so hopefully I would have some vision.................she was the last stop, he(1st Dr for 3 months) had done everything he could and now it was down to one visit............

Not the news I was hoping for................There is no lens that will ever help me see anything again. I have permanent damage and I am blind in my left eye. I have had a positive attitude through out the whole ordeal "it is what it is" it is crazy how life can change in an instant from a freak million to 1 accident. However I am making the best of the situation at least I have 1 good eye. 3 weeks ago I started working out again (obviously no fucking bands)! Life is good. I am 49 years old and up until this I have been lucky. In October due to being Fed LEO I can retire at 50, regular retirement, no medical bullshit. I am looking LOL hard at this option I may do it...............

Anyway sorry for the long post, but if this helps out one person it will be worth it. Take care of yourselves. Pic immediately after before I went to the ER.

Sorry this happened to you bud. I have been working out with bands for alittle over 2 months now.

I must say their are a few exercises I wont do incase of band failure and I always wear safety glasses. My wife laughs but I try to be on the safe side since my band set was only $20.

Thanks for the post and best wishes to you.

Thanks I appreciate it........yeah good deal on the safety glasses. I think about this too. I wear glasses and sometimes wore them for my workouts (regular not safety)I wonder if it would have helped or been worse due to the force and possible shoving that glass directly in my eye..............

Well that's all I need to read!

Bands are officially more dangerous than roids.

But for real though, that sucks ass.

You said it was the handle that hit you right? Did it snap off or break or something? or just come loose?

No not even the handle, it is the piece that goes over the door frame........nothing broke or anything, no idea how it possibly happened million to 1 I think and to recreate it would probably never happen again. Here is something similar.

That sucks. Sorry about your vision loss but glad to see you are staying as positive as possible about a crap situation.

Take the retirement, run, and then go start the next chapter of your life :)

Var by itself is pretty useless (unless female... mm var on women is nice). Any type of anabolic will suppress the HPTA in some form, which will cause more harm than good in the end. If you are to suppress it, you are required to supplement test in place, since our bodies freak out and shut off natural T anytime we use any form of anabolic.

If it was that easy the pharmaceutical industry would have grabbed it, spent hundreds of millions lobbying for legalization, and would be raking in hundreds of billions on a nice new anti-obesity drug.

Labs all over would be rolling in dough since now everyone needs routine lab tests. Would be a nice steady income stream for them.

I sometimes wonder if I have low T, but also can't tell if I'm being subconsciously led into that belief because it's such a hot topic right now.

Anything big-pharma simply terrifies me (I don't even like to take ibuprofen), so I think I'm comfortable with my healthy diet and exercise routine for now. My body is going to naturally do what it wants to do.
