New here as I just picked up a 2020 TRD Pro a couple of weeks ago. I was lurking on this thread prior to purchasing- plenty of good info in here. Thank you.

Anyways- here is the deal I ended up with that worked for me. Truly was in no hurry to purchase, they just so happened to have what I was looking for. Just about begged me to make an offer.

    2020 TRD Pro- Super White
    Bed Lights
    Door Sill Protectors
First Aid Kit- forgot to tell them to keep it.
    Mudguards

    MSRP- $48,172.00
    Agreed upon price- $45,721.00
    Tax/Title/Reg- $828.87
    Doc Fee- $115.00
    OTD- $46,664.87

Of course they tried to sell me all of the paint protection, gap insurance etc., even attempted to force some sort of anti theft stickers for $500, told them i'd walk if they included those.

There is no way in hell you only paid $828.87 in TTL on a nearly $46k truck. The taxes alone would have to be at least $2500, probably a lot more.

For the 1000th time, people here want to see 2 numbers...
    1. MSRP
    2. the price you paid BEFORE fees (tax/title/reg/etc).

If you want to provide the OTD price, that's fine, but it's not really useful for shoppers.

Only way I can see that low of tax/tag/title is if he had a trade in that provided a tax credit. If a trade occurred that is a big influence on whether the deal was good or not and should be noted in these posts..

Some states have very low sales/use tax on vehicles. Oregon charges 0.5% because they have a high income tax. South Carolina used to 5% with a $300 maximum (this increased in 2017). Washington State has high car tab fees that fund public transit on top of 10%+ use tax (with no income taxes). North Carolina charges property taxes (same rate as a home) on all vehicles. Some states give you a credit for a vehicle traded in. Every state has different taxation scheme.

Pretty sure I provided the sale price before taxes, title, etc. as agreed upon price. In Oregon, so there you go. I did get hit with the new “Privilege” tax.

    No trade.

I think this proves why OTD price by itself isn't very useful. I'm certainly no opposed to seeing the full breakdowns like this though.

The OTD price is useless, unless you are also going to provide your location because your fees etc are only relevant in your local jurisdiction. If you are buying in TX, a shopper in CO will only be confused by your OTD price. Even a buyer in a different county in your own state might be subjected to a totally different fee structure. As I said a few posts ago, if you must list your OTD price, that's totally fine, as long as you also list your MSRP and pre-fee price, as those are the 2 numbers that show your raw discount percentage and that is what most buyers really want to know.

    Currently Shopping...
I haven't read this whole thread, but to really organize all this, we'd need some way to capture structured data, like maybe an Excel file on Google Docs (if not already done?). With all the different posts on here, different trims, options, and locations, it's hard to know who got a good deal or not. And it's hard to take a dealer's offer and find something on here comparable.

But if each buyer posted their data as a row in Excel, then we can make like comparisons. So the Excel file would have columns for:
    • Trim
    • TW Screen Name
    • 4x4 Or 2x4?
    • Access Or Double Cab?
    • I-4 Or V6?
    • 5 Foot Or 6 Foot Bed?
    • Manual Or Automatic?
    • Base Price
    • Fees (multiple columns)
    • Taxes (multiple columns)
    • Rebates
    • Location (separate columns for country, state/province, county, city, postal code, etc.)
    • Options/Add-Ons
    • Date Of Purchase
    • Name Of Dealership
    • Actually Purchased Or Walked Away?
    • Etc...
Then you could sort and filter and make comparisons without having to read 78 pages of posts. We could also do analytics and create dashboards. This would great to have on file for each year. Like maybe we could start a new one every year. Anyone want to start an Excel file? It would need to be well thought out and data consistency is important (Everyone must enter stuff the exact same way, so you can't have some people entering "4x4", some people entering "4 by 4", and others entering "4 x 4"). Maybe some columns could be set as mandatory and/or drop-down choices only, to ensure high-quality organized structured data.

So say I'm shopping for a white TRD Sport, double cab, automatic, and the dealer offers $35,000. I can add a row and enter all the exact details. Then I could copy and save the Excel file and filter on those same attributes to compare other buyer's numbers to mine for the same or similar specs.

I live in Vancouver Canada, feb 7 I paid $41,750 for TRD sport. MSRP is $43,750. Not including 12% tax, freight, blah blah blah. Any other Canadian prices here? Hard to find on the internet what other people paid in Canada.
