I was going to ask "how much snow you get"

I'd say skip the idea of a 4 season tires. As @Speed Freek said, there's no such thing as an "all season" tire. That's just code for this tire sucks if it's wet/muddy/snowy.

Just get yourself some dedicated winter tires. Up to you if your conditions warrant a studded tire or not...

Here's a little more food for thought.

I spent a little time on the Tire Rack website today and thought I'd share. They didn't have the Wildpeaks in the size I'm interested in so I got that info from Discount.

My wife walked by the computer and asked what I was doing. When I told here I was looking at tires she asked: "Doesn't that truck COME with tires???"
LOL They'll never understand!

 

I bought a 2016 sport, bought Blizzaks and put them on the OEM wheels, then I bought a set of aftermarket wheels and put Cooper AT3 S4 tires on them. I ran my Blizzaks for 2 winters because the stock tires SUCK in all conditions. The Blizzaks are great and are better than any non-snow tire in the snow and on the ice, but the Cooper tires are great in the cold, wet, slush due to their deep tread.

its 6 of one, half dozen the other really in my eyes. I live just north of Boston so we get cold, warm, wet, dry, snow, ice, ice, ice, slush, slush, slush.

Coopers are quieter than the stock tires are. They look aggressive. Similar/same MPG. Not heavy.

 

Falken wildpeaks at are the shit BUT mpg will take a hit. No road noise though

They have been awesome! Great in rain, snow, and I'm at 30k miles and still plenty of thread!!
Would buy again! Slight rub when sharp turning with incline, aside from that no rub!!

 

Hankook Dynapro ATM's are 38 lbs in that size and will be cheaper than the Bridgestones.

 

I’m running the same setup as you, also had slight rub on my flaps but fixed it with a heat gun.

I have always ran a dedicated studded winter tire as I like on a private gravel road that is almost always smooth ice all winter. I have a brand new set on steel wheels and never got around to switching them over yet and have been running the Falkens all winter so far. I have been extremely happy with them, seem good on icy conditions and great in any amount of snow.

Curious to see how they will wear in the summer heat. Usually around 20-30 Celsius here in summer and anywhere from 0 to -20C in winter.

I previously always ran General AT2’s on my 2nd Gen and hated them in the winter.

 

I just put those on my wife's Grand Cherokee. She's a schoolteacher so with school cancelled in the really bad weather, she doesn't need the same crazy snow capability she would if she had to work a normal shift, which is why I didn't elect to go with dedicated snows for her. I really like how they look aesthetically and while it did change the ride slightly on her Jeep as she had very highway biased tires which were 3-4 pounds lighter a tire from the factory, I don't have any knocks on them. There is a member on here that reported poor treadlife on his F-150, but that was the first I had heard about that.

I run dedicated snows on my truck to keep the salt away from my wheels and I didn't really like the original BFG KOs in the slush. I had my snow tires leftover when my 2013 was totaled, so I run those on my 2016 and haven't put the KO2 into snow service. This is the last season I'll run my current snow tires (Hankooks) but I'll be looking into Bridgestone and Nokian for next year. I just wish you could get OWL snow tires (yeah, yeah).

 

How’s your gas mileage?

 

I'm around 19, with stock I was anywhere from 20-22, but I also added a rack, not sure if that caused some drop!

 

Looks good! Are you noticing the tires rubbing just on your mud flaps?

I'm planning on getting that same setup done soon but my TRD Sport doesn't have mud flaps. Bit concerned about going up to the 265/70 if there will be any sort of rubbing.

 

They rarely rub, only when sharp turning with a incline/dip! Might take the mud flaps off to see if that helps, but honestly it's so minimal that it doesn't bother me!

 

Well, I think I've narrowed it down to the following:

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3
Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S
Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus

Based on weight, noise level, and winter performance.

 

Pretty tight race. Looks like the Pirelli are only a 50,000 mile tire. Another thing I noticed after replacing the Cooper ATP's with the Revo 3's was I could drive a straight line again. Those ATP's tread pattern really caused the truck to wander. The Revo 3 drives straight as an arrow.

I stopped at Sam’s Club on the way home from work tonight and they actually had the Pirelli in stock. It was even the right size. I was able to put it off the stack and roll it around on the floor. LOL

Ya, and in the winter test video they made the point of the Revo 3 being a little better in the snow than the Cooper. Even though the Revo does not have the snow rating the Cooper does.

And the Revo is made in Canada, but I’m biased, I’ve got grandkids there!
