It's the same bolts as the Prinsu bolts. None of those rusted.

Yeah I have no idea if they're steel or not.. What am I, some sort of metallurgist?!? I'll go with what you say on that one.

The idea is a aluminum/plastic canoe paddle, but so far I haven't mounted anything up there.

Sorry to beat this down, it's hard searching for a picture...

But can anyone message me or post pictures of the clearance between their Prinsu rack and the cab by the wind deflector. It appears that the gap looks big and maybe could be reduced a bit with shorter spacers?

    Thanks in advanced.

Where on the rack? under the cross-piece, or the side?

Now that I'm thinking of it, all sides, and the front wind fairing would be really nice. I just bought a rack but all the pictures I've seen look like the rack could be lowered a little bit.

It's most likely at that height because of the arch of the roof. Since the crossbars are straight, they get the closest at the middle of the roof. Obviously the fairing at the front could be adjusted independently, but the limiting factor for the rest of the rack is the cross bar. They will also deflect downward a little if you point load them in the center.

This was the case with the toprac that I put on my ARE MX shell. I have about 1/2" of clearance in the middle since the roof bulges up slightly.

For someone with the Toprac, do they include the mounting feet with the purchase, or do I need to purchase some separately?

All you need is a camper shell with tracks. the feet that mount the Prinsu to your rails are included.

Good to know, thanks! I'm foregoing the camper shell for now. I've got a Softopper, and I'm having a custom rack fabricated that the toprac will then mount to.

If you are having a rack made, what utility does the top rack provide? Why wouldn't you just have the rack do what you need it to?

IMO there's more functionality with different items and configurations with the prinsu. Side lights, back light, etc etc. I also have a near serial killer's level of OCD about things lining up perfectly...

How often do you plan on reconfiguring your setup? Why not build the rack for your intended use right away as opposed to relying on a 3rd party solution?

Don't know yet. Another reason to do it this way is for my purposing: I will mostly use it for a canoe on top. Currently, when I put my canoe on top, it rubs against the softopper, when I put towels or what not down, it is difficult to slide over until it gets to the cab rack. So, with a rack set up, and a prinsu on top of that, I can purchase a canoe roller to attach to the prinsu, and roll it right on top. Also, from a side-profile POV, the bed rack will hug the soft topper, and then the prinsu will extend over the back top of the soft topper. Not sure if you're familiar with the side profile of a soft topper, they sort of "stick up" a bit in the rear. this way, the prinsu will extend OVER that, and the roller will be right there.

I could go with a higher bed rack, but then there will be a large gap between the soft topper and the rack. Please see my second answer to your previous question about things lining up.

So purchased the Toprac, it arrived, only question, what are these brackets for, they're 12" x 2", x4, with 4 holes on either end:
