RS3000 TVIP system w/complete wiring harness

Just pulled an RS3000 system out of a 1999 tacoma. I do not have a fob for this system, but I have the complete wiring harness, piezo buzzer, glass break sensor, microphone, indicator light, original wire splice clamps, and all of that jazz.

If I can verify that it just plugs up to my 99 we have a deal. I need to go out and take the kick panel off to look at electrical harnesses.

 

I pulled this off of a 99. I think it should be a perfect match. Theres an instruction sheet for installing these kits floating somewhere around the internet. I'll take a look for it while you look at your plugs. I have a few pictures of where some of the plugs/wires go, but I didn't take many.

These are instructions for an 01. The plugs and associated wiring between the two trucks are the same though... at least they were between the 99 I pulled this from and my 2001.

I bought the 99 as a 4wd parts truck and saw that security system hiding in there. I knew a TW member would need it more than whatever Arkansas Random Joe ends up buying this 99 truck from me in a few weeks with their tax return money lol

Not seeing every connection the instructions mention but the instructions look poorly drawn in some areas. Instructions mentioned the beeper in the engine bay plugs into an electrical connection that's plugged. Well I have a couple free plugs on this truck but not sure if those two are it. As you can see this truck has been entirely submerged up to the steering wheel on the driver side.

Here are a few pictures from when I was pulling the system that may help you out. I can't image that the wiring harness is any different. A lot of the plugs were behind the fuse box like up high. The harness is designed so that some plugs in your truck will be unplugged and plugged into this harness.... this harness will then be plugged into the location of that connector that you just removed. It basically makes a loop through the TVIP harness and back into the truck wiring. Most of the wiring you should be looking for likely already has stuff plugged into it.

 

Yeah I'll have to look around a bit harder. This truck has been in two front end collisions so some of the engine bay harnesses just aren't in their normal spots anymore.

I would like to pretend that wiring comes naturally to me. I honestly wouldn't know how to wire up one of these systems without physically holding the plugs in my hand and digging through my truck looking for the matching plugs, haha. Now that I've taken a couple of the out of various Tacomas its gotten easier.

Got after things today and determined that all I'm missing is the piezo buzzer harness in the engine bay. Or the 01 (the manual I'm following) had a separate harness in the engine bay and in 99 it's parts of the RS3000 harness.

Your pictures makes it look like the buzzer is attached and can't disconnect so I'm hoping that's the case. I also found a slight difference in one harness under the steering wheel. My connector is blue with less wires than the picture you posted. But mine still has the red and green wire that needs to be spliced into.

 

Do you have cruise control? That could explain the differences in wire count between my pictures and yours under the steering column.

 

Yeah it has cruise. But also 3 pedals.
