Custom steering wheel logo

the 3m tape has held up so far for me! Haven’t had hot weather to test that yet, but I’ve had to hit the horn a couple times and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. But it was so easy to install and cheap for material that even if it came loose in a few months, I’d still do the tape option again.

 

Mines got kind of a grainy splotchy finish but it’s held on with Gorilla brand tape rated at 30lbs

I have all but given up on those. Getting all the colors to print together and not have any defects is really hard. I'm switching over to PETG for most of my stuff so I may try it again in the future.

I've also been working on some new stuff. If it all works out I will be getting these made on an SLS printer which allows things that I haven't been able to print. These are all overlays and they are a form fit over the OEM emblem. They will only be black, but for the TEQ and TRD I'm thinking I can cut vinyl to fit in the insets.

 

I bet if you provide some measurements of that emblem size, @JimmyRigged88 could help answer your Q’s

Yeah, if you get me dimensions I could tell you for sure. My money is on it fitting. So far they fit everything from a corolla to a tundra. Apparently even the scion logo is the same dimensions, because I’ve had a bunch of orders from scion owners lately.

That trd looks pretty good- can you Back up and take a picture to show the whole wheel plus partial dash? Is it smooth texture or smooth?

 

I can't, I had to trade my Tacoma in My family outgrew it.
It's a smooth texture, like a flat clear coat or really fine powder coat. All 3 are different surface finishes so I could compare them. I'm going with the finish on the TRD for all of them going forward. The final TRD and TEQ will have the letters inset rather than raised. That way I can get different color vinyl cut to fit.

So what air bag is in the picture? Can you still take a backed up photo- it’s more to get a overall feel for the design/look. Smooth definitely looks cleaner
