I don't know, somebody was going to Sunday river where he works so was just saying they might spot his truck. I have him on social media and his phone number

    Same

Same. Just someone was going to Sunday River so they might see him working there

    Oh my God absolutely! lol!

Anytime you hang out with him you never know what you are going to get. Another gem of his was during Mardi Gras up in Burlington VT years ago. Dude bought 27 Jäger Bombs with some bud lights sprinkled in there at one bar. Of course he didnt drink all of them but he definitely had a bunch. Over $200 for being at that place for about 45 minutes. He still has the receipt somewhere. Love the guy, but what an F'n meat head...

Okay I need some advice guys.:help:

So I have car ADD and now that I am at 2 years and 40k on the taco I am starting to get the bug again. I love my taco and honestly don't have a complaint, but once my brain starts going in that direction I have trouble stopping it. There isn't anything really that new out there that I am interested in (At least realistically priced) and I am also sick of taking a bath on trading before I get all the value out of a vehicle.

So its time for a new approach. I am looking for a fun used vehicle that will last a long time and that has a decent aftermarket support/easy parts supply incase I have any issues. So far I've only really considered a 1st gen taco (ext cab long bed) or possibly one of the 90/20's land cruiser everyone seems to loves so much. I am open to other ideas or advice on models/certain years. It needs 4wd and to be able to tow 4-5k a couple dozen times a year. I know you all have warned me about going to old-school before, so I am looking for more of a "modern classic". Want to keep it around 10k or less so when I want to try out something else in a few years I don't lose much swapping around. Ideally, spend 6-8k and have 2k or so to restore it a bit or some mild suspension work.

I'm going to be that guy and go against the grain, older full-sized PU with a carbureted V8.

K10 would be pretty sweet or a 70s Bronco

Keep the taco for the utility and buy a Miata for the fun.

I do like the old full sizes, just not certain of reliability on them.

I think I'd go bronco over k10. I'll have to do a little looking around

I had a focus st which was fun. I shouldn't have cars that are even sort of fast though...not much self control in the speed department if I know its available!

Nice thing about the F150 is it's quick but doesn't handle well enough to get me into trouble. I feel like I'll just end up rolling it!

If it handles anything like mine did you'll understeer through a corner LONG before you need to worry about a rollover.

That’s why I landed in a Tacoma. Had a Mazda 3 and was keeping pace with another car in the passing lane on a 2 lane 45 mph. Realized someone in the travel lane was going wicked slow. Then I looked down and saw, after backing off for a few seconds, 75 in a 45. Assuming before that I was touching 80. 80 in a 45 is not a hefty fine. It’s license lost type of speed. So, my expensive Tacoma is actually cheaper than the inevitable if I had kept that car. After that day I did kind of back it off but yeah, I shouldn’t have a peppy car.

My best friend just bought a 1991 K5 a few months back that he's slowly working through. It's one of the last K5s so it's got a TBI'd 350. It's very rough, and it's a Scottsdale so it's VERY base, but I absolutely love it. He's currently taking a welding class to learn how to weld better so he can start replacing the rotted bits. He's done a few things here and there that you won't see, but he wants to get better on the stuff you will see.

The K5/Bronco market is seriously heating up though. The good full-size ones are already $10,000 and up.

EDIT: Very rough is probably an overestimation. It's actually really rust free for a Blazer, but it's still needing a bunch of work before it could be a true daily driver.

My friend and I have tended to follow each other around on car choices and it's been really tough not to look at old off-roaders.
