25k miles on my truck and the sunvisor just fell out of the mount and dangling by the wire and the crapbags at Concord Toyota (CA) are denying warranty claiming after inspection that its my fault for abusing and pulling on it. (Absolute false bullshit). Heres the kicker... they want $521 to fix it. $320 for the part. So in the spirit of FUCK THAT, im trying to locate a used one at a reasonable non-American Healthcare price.

Any one have any tips on where i can find used parts?

Try a different dealer. Go to a dealer you haven't been to before and in an effort to earn your business, they will be more willing to work with you.

Junkyards around here don't get the new vehicles, they all get cherrypicked by scrappers who dont seem to actually have a business front to the public ive been able to find.

The visor is only $197 from Olathe NEW

If it broke that easy I can't imagine the 300# Gorilla removing one at the salvage yard is going to be gentle

Why would they want that much for install? Isn’t it just a couple fasteners and a connector? Or does the headliner need to be removed for some reason. Regardless, try another dealer.

The usual places where you would get any used car part. Google is quite useful to steer you in the right direction

I was initially worried about that too, but it's literally 2 phillips screws, pop it off, and disconnect the wires. It takes 10minutes and they're trying to bill me for 2 hours and a $320 part thats worth $35-50 at best.

So is this site once you ignore all the people who leave comments like this. I haven't looked for used parts since I modded VW's and that was 20 years ago so pardon me if I'm not up to speed on the knowledge of who/where the dismantlers are in my area. I figure i'd aks a demographic of people likely with experience finding parts for my Tacoma. Funny how it worked, just this thread alone I've already learned I can get them from LKQ and car-parts.com so if I were to do a Google search it'd just point me right back to this thread. Thanks to those who provided some good info I appreciate it. Hopefully I can find a reputable dealership that wont try to bend me over, if not I have an alternative now.

Shitty. That plastic bracket cracked apart I assume? Could even be from factory overtightening of the screws. I doubt you’ll find the whole visor assembly in decent shape for under $160-200 sadly. interior parts like this are always expensive in my experience. Especially if it comes with that light mirror/inside. Best of luck.

I just did a google search for you. This threat was a no show. However I did find about 10 places that have it in stock, used. Some include Amazon, eBay, Toyota Parts Deal, Auto Parts Warehouse, etc. That took me less time than it took you to make this thread.
I wasn’t being a smartass with my original post. I was honestly giving you your best option. Those prices range from about $45 to $100 for the entire assembly. Just trying to help you out, bro

Dont know if it cracked, the visor literally just fell out of the hole and dangled by the wires when I flipped it down to block sun coming in the side window.
